I saw a rapid improvement right after starting needling (without roller even), but I am on finasteride and MIN, so take it for what you will. My scalp feels really good right after, and my skin seems to have more elasticity or something. More or less growing hairs clear down into my temple area where I haven't had hair since I was a preteen, but as I said I didn't start needling until about 2 months on finasteride. so it might just be that.
I'd say try it, may as well. I just use disposable pin needles and do a quick once over once every 3 days or so before and after applying MIN.
I can only do it once every 3 days because I get sore if I use it more. Some people use it twice a day in conjunction with their MIN usage.
I use it directly (seconds) before or directly (seconds) after applying my MIN. The reason being I have heard that either the holes close quickly for doing it before, or the MIN dries to fast to do it after, I alternate because I do not know which is correct.
I roll right before applying minoxidil. I have heard that the holes stay open an hour and then I have heard they only stay open a few seconds. Who knows, so that's why I apply minoxidil right after.
I mostly roll every night but sometimes skip a day. It also depends on the pressure you use. The harder you press, the more time you would need to heal.
I think there is REALLY something to the Dermraroller. This company that hasn't gone public yet is conducting experimental trial with the Dermaroller + their hair loss formula that includes high quality minxodil... that results are better than anything ive EVER seen.
I read somewhere that you should use it around 5 times a week. It also depends on how hard you press as you are rolling. If you use more force, then use it less often. Some people use it every night.
I needle once every 3 days, I get some irritation if I go more than that. Some people do every other day, some people go twice a day. If I where you, I would do it as many times a week as you can handle. That is to say how ever often you can, and do not get irritation (not right after, that is a given, I'm talking irritation that keeps you awake at night when you rolled in the morning).
