Almost 2 years in since I noticed loss. My density is destroyed. On oral minoxidil and and considering RU and maybe topical Finasteride if it doesn’t work. Terrified of the shed I had when starting minoxidil last May as I never recovered.

I would kill to have my old crazy density and be receding. My hair is long and hides a bit but the miniaturized hairs are taking over and I drop 100 long hairs every shower.

My back and side have also thinner a great deal in just 2 years.

I would love to have my old density back too and keep my present hairline but it aint' happening and I have tried almost everything including dutasteride. If you find a way please keep me informed. Your current situation mimics mine but my happened almost 13 years ago and it did not recover back to the same density no matter how hard I have tried.

@DoctorHouse would you have waited on treatments? I’m bordline noticeable but shedding a ton everyday. It seems like ‘treatments’ do the most damage in density. We’re you able to gain any ground? Maintain? Trying to stay off the oral AA for at least a few years.

I’m trying to buy a year before starting, family.

I see you used RU any results from that? I was thinking of trying the RU minoxidil route and then adding topical or oral Finasteride?

I personally didn't get great results from RU. I maintained, but i was also on finasteride and minoxidil, so tough to say how much each one actually contributed. I didn't get any noticeable improvement from adding RU and I used it for over a year So I cut it out mostly just to save money, so still on minoxidil and finasteride and nothings really changed.. Obviously others have had success with it tho, so defintiely worth a shot in my opinion..

on a sidenote, i should probably update my current regimen...

I never waited. I was desperate not to go bald so I started topical treatments first before I had thyroid issues. I came from a high Norwood dad so I was using Nioxin in my early days. Then Revivogen back when Spencer Kobren endorsed it, and then the Laser Comb. Then minoxidil and finally finasteride.

Damn. I really didn’t think it could progress this fast. Two months can do a lot of damage. I’m terrier that I might start something that accelerates this to the point of no return. @DoctorHouse we’re you able to maintain? Recover even for a few years?

Does adding Tricomin spray cause a shed? CP seems like a decent addition with low risk.

Never recovered from baseline. I would say I did not maintain either. You got a tough road ahead you. It's very hard for most men to avoid any hair loss or loss of density past 40.

Diffuse thinner here. Got sides from finasteride and Min. Use Nizoral daily.

People will probably not believe me, but after reading a study out of Japan about scalp “stretching” (massage that puts tension on the skin) I figured I’d give it a try. Over 6 months, I regained a small amount of density, which is huge for me because I have been slowly thinning for 10 years so any gain in appreciated.

Side effect free and cheap even if you buy a scalp massager like I did (the Panasonic one from the study)

You've been balding for 2 years? I've been balding for 10. Diffused horribly. Regained a lot of hair so far over 6 months of big 3. Just be patient, you'll probably have great results.

edit: I see you're only on oral min. Get on finasteride immediately. Don't wait like I did. I've been on finasteride for almost a year now (started it before min) and have had 0 side effects. You'll see this on this forum over and over again: "I wish I started sooner"

Diffuse here + standard male pattern baldness.

Finasteride returned 90% of thickness on diffused area (I got NW5 diffuse area) To NW3
Minoxidil regrowing my current status to NW2 / NW1.5

Well, i was pretty dumb, i stopped finasteride for half year. Since i was using it when was 19 and i didnt know i will be diffuse thinner. After a half year of stopping meds, i receded to NW3 and got diffused to NW5. I jumped back on big 4 ( finasteride+min+keto+dermaroller) and after a 9 months i am on hairly plannet again. :)

But i had some infections also like candida and it caused for sure many toxic effects on my body.

Diffuse thinning since 18 I’m almost 23 now, I originally had incredible regrowth with minoxidil + finasteride however I’ve since lost those gains. I’m still going strong in terms of maintenance.

Without treatments I probably would be close to a diffuse NW4 by now - currently I sit at a slightly diffuse NW1.5. None the less I still feel like I’m fighting a losing battle.
