i know propecia is listed as one of the big 3. minoxidil for growth, nizoral for clean scalp, and propecia as dht inhibitor.

my question is: if i use topical dht inhibitor (spironolactone for example) do i still need propecia? why do people recommands propecia as the one to use – is it because propecia is the only clinically proven dht inhibitor?

The answer to your last question is yes. It is the only FDA approved med for fighting DHT and male pattern baldness.

spironolactone has its advocates and has minimal side effect risks. Topical that is.
