Does anybody know exactly what DHT does to the hair follicle. Through all my reading, the only thing I've read is that DHT causes miniaturuzation. They never specify why. Is DHT choking the vascular pathways that nourish the follicle? Why hasn't this been determined?

All I know is that it attacks the follicle and kind of suffocates the follicle. Don't know any of the technical stuff.

It makes me think it suffocates the follicle, but that raises the question of why minoxodil doesn't prevent hair loss if it reopens the vascular pathway.

From my understanding, Dht only clogs the hair follicles in a low oxygen environment. The top of the head gets less oxygen so The follicles become choked out more easily.
