Diddy ~18 month update for all those interested

boring day today so i decided to check out this site and throw down a little update. Last time i updated a few months ago i went threw a huge shed which left everything thinned. Since then everything thickened amazingly to the point where 3 weeks ago, aside from my higher temples, i had incredibly thick hair. I think something is again up with my hair, i *think* i might be going through another shed, yet the hair still looks pretty damn good.

I seem to again find tons of hair on my comb/ in the shower, but at the same time i have tons of vellus hairs along my hairline which are either new hair or dying ones, can't really tell. The optimistic thing is that these vellus hairs are also around my right temple and i'm pretty sure that area was pretty bare always before. If i end up getting temple growth at 18 months in i'm gonna call merck and ask to be the poster boy for this damn drug.

Right now i'm kinda just praying i can get another 2 or so years of stabilization before having to switch to dutasteride or whatever. Gonna keep the regimine the same, but probably cycle off propecia for 2 weeks in October.

For all those guys who say propecia stops at 1 year, it sure doesn't, lots of sh*t happens in the second year, at least in my case anyway. From this point on things might get better or worse, can't really tell, but either way the drug up to this point has been pretty damn impressive.

I'm at 8 1/2 months and i still don't notice improvement. How much longer should my hope last...

Its not meant to improve hair count, its meant to keep what hair you have. Sometimes it does imporve hair count but its not meant to. You also have to be more specific, is your hair still falling out or is it staying the same? If its staying the same then its working.

Still pretty much the same. Notice hair in the shower, on the comb, on the pillow. Don't know if i should wait until 12 months. I really don't know.

Diddy I have really good results too after 12 months. From incredibly diffuse hair to extremely thick hair. Only problem is my temples have crept slightly higher up. I am maybe Norwood 1.5 now. Propecia doesn't seem to be working there. I am trying to use minoxidil on temples only to thicken them up but so far not working.

for your own good. please please please stick with a consistent regimen for 12 months when using finasteride.

Why? I've seen your pictures. You're having great results with temple regrowth so why mess with succes? Your body is adjusted to finasteride, just keep going.

gives me hope, im on finasteride as of 9 months now, have seen ups and downs, have been on a down for about 1 1/2 months now.

how long do your downs (times where your hair has gone down the toilet) last? also, when you say it thinned a lot then became thick again....(a) how long did the thinning period last, (b) how long did it take to thicken, and (c) when you say it thinned, could you be more specific...are you talking about dramatic thinning and thickening, or just a bit? cosmetically noticeable?

thanks again for your input, is good to hear. am also wondering, before starting treatment was your hair thinning fast or at a fairly slow rate? just wondering for comparison to my situation.
