Difference between nizoral and T/Gel

Can someone please explain? I notice the active ingredients are different, therefore I assume each does something different in the way of scalp conditioning.

Currently I use nizoral every fourth day and on the in-between day I use T/Gel. Please comment on this regimen.

Also I am experiencing excellent results so far. I have been on 1mg finasteride for 1 week shy of 3 months, 5% minoxidil for 3 months and nizoral for 3 months. Only in the last week did I add T/gel.

Thanks in advance.

Nizoral should be used at the most once every 3 days, and on off days you should use a moisturizing shampoo. Then it wont kill your hair or dry you out so much.

Nizoral is used by hair loss sufferers more often than TGel for two reasons: It just seems to work amazingly well at reducing the inflammation and irritation associated with male pattern baldness. Second reason is because there have been studies done showing that 2% form of Nizoral seemed to have similar hair growth effects as Rogaine 2%. Since Nizoral is the only shampoo on earth that can make this claim right now (and even the makers of Nizoral refuse to make any hair growth claims *BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL TO DO SO WITHOUT AN APPROVED NEW DRUG APPLICATION FROM THE FDA - COUGH COUGH*) ... people use it usually over or in conjunction with TGel.

Nizoral contains Ketokonazole and TGel is what is known as a "Coal Tar" shampoo.

Here's an interesting article on Coal Tar and cancer risks:

Hey

Hi All,

Ok... just got through reading the last 20 something pages. Im 22, in college, have had hairloss for nearly 2-1/2 years now. Its getting close to being noticable.. and .. well.. I'm starting to freaked out.

That said, my regime includes 2-1/2 months of propecia, and I just began Nizoral(again) in response to this site. I tried rogaine but it caused much irritation, and puss blisters.

(1)Something I noticed in the last few days is that Nizoral dries my scalp and causes a few random small zits. Should i discontinue? Tough it out? or what?

(2)Also, I heard of Retin-A varieties of minoxidil. Would this solve the problems that i have with the traditional rogaine.

(3)On off Nizoral days, is paul mitchell green tea shampoo ok? What would you guys recomend for a moistering conditioner(PS. i hate nioxin)?

(4)Lastly, I hear everyone talking about nano shampoo. Do you guys recommend it as a proven treatment. If so, could you please refer me to an appropriate url link. The ones I was looking at were a bit dodgy.

Thats it, any advice you guys could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a Bunch,

In the UK, T/Gel contains Salicylic Acid (T/Sal has been rebranded T/Gel) and the good old coal tar T/Gel is called T/Gel with Coal Tar.

1. I would stick with the nizoral. Make sure you only use it once per 3 days and use a good conditioner afterwards.

2. What you need is the Non-ppg formula of minoxidil. You can get it from minoxidil.com. this should cure all your issues if you are experiencing problems with the alcohol in regular rogaine, which is what it sounds like.

3. That shampoo should be fine. I recommend infusion23 for conditioner.

4. as a shampoo I wouldnt expect too much from nano. I have personally not used it though.

Sigh... my scalp has gotten worse, more dry, and more hairloss of strong otherwise healthy hairs(not the fine dwindled down hairs).

I'm very sensitive to treatments, and it seems this treatment is to intensive.

What other possible alternatives may there be to fix what has occured, and repair my scalp.
