In the meantime, what I'm currently working on is my skin. Bought a gradual tanning lotion which I'm planning to apply every night.

That along with toppik should help me get through the awkward phase.

Basically opting for a more casual, youthful look.

What do you think @Wolfpack?

What Michel posted is true but also I'd add that even with an attractive face and in the company of pretty women, a Norwood 1/2 just looks better (there's symmetry, uniformity, thickness, free hair styling). That's not to say they would not be attracted to someone balding with the same face, but there'll be further peacocking with the hair/grooming which will translate to more facial harmony and attraction. And no doubt some pretty girls will overlook balding guys regardless of face.

It's also about feeling better and mentally free of crap, but I won't advise you on this anymore as we've all talked about it. Being the best version of yourself also translates into enjoying yourself more whether in the company of someone else or generally socialising. For a start, you wouldn't be thinking is my hair good enough for her, am I good enough, that itself can hamper chemistry in someone really dominated by their hair thoughts.

that is exactly this ! since hair loss have hit me , i never feel like the best version of myself ! it is even more true if you used to rely a lot on your hair ( like I did in the past , used to get compliment about my hair .... )

Money is fine for me as I saved up a bunch of money last winter when I thought I was

If it wasn't for the shitty recovery process and looking like an idiot for the first 4 months I would probably book it in for January. I get six weeks off

Just excuses. There will never be a perfect time. Jesus won't come down to earth and tell you its fine to get an hair transplant. Why do you care what some faggots think? That's between you and feeling better? jesus...

Tough call, mate. I think it would probably look worse if buzzed down.

The only exception would be if you buzzed it no guard, but then you would have to have a lot of factors in your favour to pull it off (decent face, some muscles).

I'm in inclined to agree with you mate. Diffusers have it easier in a way, when it comes to buzzing at least as the hairloss can be evenly distributed, although that's not to say some guys don't get both recession and diffusion.

Hairloss is an undeniable reality. The reality that we are going to loss confidence, our personalities will change, and we won't be the same person as before. I'm not saying we will turn into pathetic incels either. But it will have an affect on us all. There is no escape from that.

Was it an easy decision for you to have a hair transplant?

I never realized do many of you guys has a hair transplant and had fixed your problems.

Johnson no offence but you are one of those people that will look for the ultimate sign to make a decision of either letting it go, or doing a transplant. You will not find it mate. What you want us to tell you? That balding gives you fewer points on the looks scale? Yes it does. So what now? Find out how much exactly it does for you? Does it even matter anymore?

jasonstatham, no offence but you're an idiot.

Of course not. But after spending months in GourmetStyleWellness and seeing all this depressed fucks with hundreds and even thousand post, I realised you have to make a decision. Either accept your genetics, or search for a good hair transplant surgeon. But this being between this 2 worlds is insane.

hair transplants are not for higher nws or retrograde alopecia. Most depressed fucks are simply fucked with no current treatment option.

Fair point.

I felt proactive taking the medication but the transplant is the final push.

I've decided to take the advice and go ahead with the procedure. I was actually surprised that so many people on here are in favour of the cosmetic surgery. I figured if they were so pro surgery then surely they would all get the surgeries themselves.

Last night I also had a heart to heart with three mates. Two of them said they think I don't need it but if I think it will make me happier with my hair then I should do it. One guy was wary because he had a mate who had a good transplant but he lost hair 5 years later (wasn't on meds) and so looked weird later on. I tried to talk him over but he wasn't convinced. I think trying to convince him said more on my true thoughts then I even realized. Its a tough, life changing call to make, but I guess we must take some chances in life.

Either way i'm opting for a moderate transplant and have the temples filled in - the surgeon talked about lowering my hairline 1cm but I didn't want to as the front of my hair is the actual natural hairline that I've always had. Its only the temples that bother me.

I think that if you get one transplant you need to accept that it's likely you'll need to get more transplants in the future for maintenance.

There are some crazy high Norwood results from doctors certified on the other forum but it's once in a blue moon. High Norwood it's too late 9.9 times out of 10.

Why?

I'm on the big three

Whats the point if you maintain your current hair?
Well in case you have no problem maintaining with meds you're good to go. Otherwise you just get more transplants, which for some reason people love to think is the end of the world lol.

Congrats. What day is your appointment?
I'm flying over second to last week of January.

I've booked 2 weeks off work and then its 7 days off for the Asian/lunar new year - so 3 weeks off which will hopefully allow some of the redness to dissipate.

I don't know how you men felt about getting transplants, but I think its quite a scary thing to do. The surgeon has been pretty good at explaining the process to me though.
