Diffuse thinning?

Hey guys, so I'm twenty years old. I feel like i have great thick hair but after I got my hair cut, I have this worry on the side of my head. I went to the Derm and she looked it and said I have nothing to worry about, she said my hair is thinner on the top then the sides but it is normal, she said I have healthy pores and roots and that for my age, my hair is exceptional. I also asked my barber and he laughed at me. I think its might be from the haircut, my hair is shorter on that side than the other. I also feel like I have no density loss. Anyways please take a look.

Mind you the part where I see my hair splitting, I have held it in that position for the picture. Since my hair is thick, I feel like it just stays like that. Please let me know what you think.

Possibly some early diffuse thinning, yes. I'm 20 and have that too but it's worse than yours :p That line in your head looks familiar.

last picture really looks "unusual"
my recommendation: go and visit another derm just to be on the safe side ;-)

yup, I'm gonna go for another check up. Anyways, I went back to my barber just to ask him. He might not be a derm but just for his opinion. When I showed him the pic, he said it's because I styled my hair the opposite way. Like he made my hair longer so I can do the hair to one side style kind like Beckham or Harvey Spector in Suits. also, he's like any one who purposely splits their parting and moves the hair in between will show scalp. Just his opinion but I'm gunna see another Derm

Regardless, here are more pics. Honestly, my hair feels like a brush but the pics I am posting now are me pretty much under a spot light with flash on my mac book. So I don't think I can post pics with any more damage than I do now, other than standing under direct sunlight.

Hey, umm I literally see absolutely no shedding whatsoever. I tried to see how many hairs would end up on my towel after i dried my hair. I dried it very vigorously and I saw maybe one or two hair stands.

I now feel my scalp starting to hurt, sometimes itchy and sometimes a tingle that starts from my scalp and goes all the way down my arm. MY Doctor thinks it's TMJ related because I am diagnosed with TMJ. He believes that my TMJ is causing my nerves in my scalp to feel inflamed. Also, TMJ puts a lot of stress on my head, jaw scalp.

Congratulations, if you are in fact thinning, then you've caught it a very early stage and that's 90% of the battle. Go see a hair transplant surgeon for an assessment of your loss, they'll check for miniaturisation and write you a prescription for finasteride
