I probably would have been a little more conservative on the hairline but looks good otherwise

I think it looks good to. Mind if I ask how much the procedure cost?

i originally wanted the hairline higher but because of the narrowness of mt head (pin head. lol) the doctor suggested going a little lower. he also said that once the swelling goes down, it will widen out in the front. but only time will tell.
the desity was a bout 40 cm2 and i shold be able to go back and get another 20 cm2 or more in 6 months to a yaer to get a fuller look.

as far as the cost goes. i was originally schedueld for 2000 grafts via an internet consultation. when i arived for the procedure and was measured, the Doctor decided that i only needed a max of 1500. i was ready to pay for the 2000 so this was a big surprise to me that they would turn down the extra cash. so after the Doctor cut the strip and his assistants finished seperating the grafts, they came up with 1471 total. it amazed me at how the assistant used a counter to count the plug holes while the Doctor was plugging away. anyway, one of the assistants handed me 60 bucks for the difference in grafts. that said a lot right there. my total cost for 1471 grafts was 3677.00 with a chicken lunch and no hidden charges. also worth mentioning, the assistants were very friendly and helpfull. anything i wanted, they made sure to accomodate me. also, the night of the procedure, the day after and the following day, one of the staff members called to check up on me. pretty awesome and very personable if you ask me.

Its obvious to me that your will go completely bald. Im afraid you WILL BE GETTING much more surgery in the future. Hope youre financially prepared to do that.

its not a question of money...its a question of whether he will have enough donor hair

So do people that get hair transplants go back to work like that? How do they hide the unsightly results until the hair grows in and looks normal? I have thinning hair but I don't think I could ever get a hair transplant. Too scary for me.

negative remarks are usually a refletion of ones own poor self esteem! i'm 39 now and my father and his brothers are in their late 60's with the identical hair loss that i have so i doubt i will go completely bald. but if it happens then so be it. i'll deal with it as it comes. but for now, i'll live in the moment. also, DR thinks i have enough donor for at least 2500 more.

I have to agree with you there, but the rest of us are pulling for you. Keep us up to date on your results.

here's a pic 10 days post op. i shaved the rest of my hair down to a #4 to try and make it blend in a little better. almost all of the scabs have fallen off and the swelling has gone down. i think it's looking pretty good now. still having a lot of soreness in the donor area and it's harder than hell to get a good night sleep because just can't get comfortable. stitches and staples come out tomorrow so hopefully that will help.

it's still way to early to tell how my hair transplant will turn out but the suspense is killing me. i'd say about 1/4 of the transplanted hairs are growing in slowly. just keeping my fingers crossed. the donar area is still a little tender and it constantly feels like i am wearing a hat. i'd post a new pic but nothing as really changed.

kansta: what is DHI and are you having an FUE procedure? and how many grafts are you doing?

you went from a nw4a to a nw2, with receded temples. If that was 1500 and you still have 2500 left, you can do pretty good. Just make sure you don't lose more.

CCS, are you saying that you think i need 2500 more grafts? i was originaly scheduled for 2000 and the doctor said i only needed 1500. are you thinking i need more for better density?

Well, I suppose that would depend on what the doctor was planning on doing. You said you were going back for more density..does the doctor plan on "closing" the right side of your head at the front? Your temples are recessed and the V shape of your hairline could be improved by making your hairline more horizontal. Seems to me that would require at least 2500 grafts. More like 3500 if you ask me, if the doctor is planning on increasing the density of the first donor area as well.

They take hair from that back of the head but no strips etc...

I'm having 1200-1500 hairs in my temple area to thicken up the front hairline...
