Do cameras/angles/sunlight/wet hair matter ? (Pics included)

I am just getting more purplexed.....I was looking at the Wedding picture take in Sept 2005
http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ferrar ... pg&.src=ph

which freaked me out and comparing it with another picture about 18 hours before that pic was taken.
(here it is ... http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ferrar ... pg&.src=ph

The difference was ofcourse NO gel, Indoor picture(no sun shining on my head) and possibly flash and angles....I have tried to reproduce the infamous frontal thinning many times after that from various anlges and sunshine and wet hair look but havent been able to get quiet as close to it... the closest I got was this one...

Here is the other picture taken at the same time...

My question is - Is it possible that sunlight/ certain angles/wet hair look can make things look real awry and things may not be as bad as they look ?

Here are the pics taken on the same day 18 hours apart with difference in sun lightening/gelled hair/possibly flash/angles

The Ugly one..

Hairloss and me ? huh ?

Meanwhile I am doing whatever I can afford (regimen) to fight out the thinning/hairloss ...

the pic where you hair looks fuller is purely due to the fact that there is any natural white light, and this triggers "noise" in the photoprocessor, which causes loss of detail and focus. THerefore, pixels merge and distrubute themselves in places where they dont exist.

and yes, of course, all these things matter.

Hmmm... Interesting. I just felt that freaking pic showed an exaggerated hair thinning since I havent been able to reproduce anything like that even with pics taken under the sun.. well atleast the frontal part... the best part was it made me realise that my hair glory is fading away and I took on to meds like a frightened kid clings to his parents...

Hair always looks thinner under natural light. Remember you might not like what you see, but even people with thick hair will show scalp under scrutinizing light.

I've been through some similar stuff. I have noticed some pics my hair looks great and others not so great. I had a (US) drivers photo taken and my hair looked the worse I have ever seen it and I was a bit nervous. I have some thinning in the frontal areas and I have noticed minimal gel often looks the best. My advise stick to your regimine and don't worry about the pics so much. Funny enough sunlight can bring out some bad qualities in apearance i.e. driving the girl home the next day after meeting her in a dark pub. ha

I have a US drivers photo taken on October 31st 2004 (1 year and 1 month ago approx.) but it was without any sunlight. and NO ONE on planet earth would think I am loosing hair. I literally look like i have a helmet of hair on my head. No seriously. But thats besides the point. I am just looking to regain my hair to last years levels. and I have stopped using gel at all and combing too. I am trying to give my frontal hair some rest. As unbelievabler as this might sound I do beleive my combing practices have something to do with my frontal thinning. I used to comb it harsh while trying to get a puff look upfront and I also tried relaxers (chemical straightening) for 4 times in my life to get my hair a bit straighter and thinner. That could have contributed to the damage. Immediately after the last time I straightened my hair I noticed thinning and scalp showing through. The Lady at the salon asked me to not do it again and offered me an oil massage. Its been 1.5 years since then. Funny but i used to think my hair was thick and unmanageable now i realise what thin hair is... ! Although both derms I met refused to acknowledge my hair thinning was due to the chemical straighteners i used (just 4 times in my life)

Best advice: ask someone you've known for a long time, and whom you can trust to be brutally honest. That means don't ask mom. Siblings work well, as can long-time friends. Ask several. By this stage you've lost all objectivity and will need an independent observer.

Thanks for your advice Dave.. But the fact is I am thinning for sure and by all accounts (even my mom.. she is a critic and I showed her my pics with thinning hair) But Sometimes I genuinely feel my hairloss/thinning is not being diagonised in the right manner. I possibly have male pattern baldness but the frontal thinning seems to be my own folly. Also I realised hygienne was also an issue. I have been going to the gym for the past 3 years quiet regularly but I NEVER washed my scalp/hair after a workout. I always thought execessive shampooing was bad for the hair... i only shampooed 2-3 times a week. dunno how much that would contribute. I am hoping to reverse it to an extent...
