Hello everyone I’m 22 years old, and I wanted to know if I have an alopecia ?
For more information on me:
-My father is nearly 50 years old and he has a strong hairline NW1,5 no more
-I have thick hair that grows very fast
-I always had temple receding since 16 years, i don't remember further sorry
-For hair loss I can not say too much I lose 2/3 when I put my hand a lot in the hair, small hair on the ribs (they curl because of the glows)
-On the top of the head I don’t lose anything you don’t see my skull

I'm worried about this thin blond hair in front of my hairline. Do you think is new hair ou miniaturized ? Should I be worried ? I had a temporary alopecia according to my dermatologist because I scratched a lot in 2018 because of ezcema but since 1 years my hair is the front should have been pushed back right ? So I would like if i have solution just wait and this is my natural hairline or i'm balding ? Thanks and sorry for my mistakes I'm not english

There is recession on the temples. What about your grandparents and uncles, how is their hair?

Pictures are not so clear, but your temples certainly look bigger now than they did in 2014.. most opinions here won't be professional, so I suggest you to go to a dermatologist and ask his opinion.

Hard to tell. Go to a dermatologist. My hair started noticeably receding at your age. I waited till I was 31 to do anything about it (propecia). If you need to do something about it than do it now.

I think it looks like early male pattern baldness due to the inward progression of the left temple. It wasn’t as obvious a year ago, but it definitely is now. If not for that, I would have thought it to be a mature hairline. Mature hairlines have a distinct stopping point and they don’t recede inward.

Had it not done that, you would have had a textbook mature hairline. Regardless, the speed of that inward turn is concerning and I think you should see a dermatologist as soon as you can.

Thanks for answer but according to the pictures, my left temple hasn’t change right in one year I can take another pictures to show you maybe. Cuz last year the dermato said me it was a temporary alopecia because of eczema

It looks like it is recedecing for me. That's a typical even Norwood pattern. Check up childhood photos and see how your hairline looked. It is normal to lose the baby hairs at the temples when you hit puberty. Almost everybody does.

Maybe it was the angle or something. Either way those corners are going inward which distinguishes male pattern baldness progression from a mature hairline. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if that hair hasn’t come back at this point it’s no longer temporary loss. Hair loss from eczema returns as soon as the inflammation is resolved.

Unfortunately, that’s another argument supporting the existence of male pattern baldness. Hairs at the hairline are naturally delicate, but when they miniaturize they’re even more so. Eczema irritates the scalp, further weakens the follicles, and escalates the loss.

I would definitely see your dermatologist again as soon as possible. I suspect upon seeing that the hair hasn’t returned that they will change their diagnosis. The sooner you figure this out, the sooner you can chart a path forward.

But the hair I loose was back and even now, they're coming back. Do you think i'm balding so ? Because my hair isn't thinner, do you think my hair miniaturize ? They are strong and i don't lose much hair

I always say the same thing on these kind of posts and I'll keep saying it forever:

The one that will tell you if you have Androgenetic Alopecia is the dermatologist. Always. He's the expert on the matter.

Here on these forums we can only guess. A few pictures don't say much.

IMO, yes, there's receding on the temples and that's how Androgenetic Alopecia usually starts. You are lucky you've spotted it so early. Medication will save you years and years of hair loss.

But as I said, go see the doctor. He's the professional here.

EDIT: By the way, my dad is 60 and still has good hair, not even crown thinning. They are 4 brothers and they all have hair. But me? I'm balding at 23. Nothing really serious, but my crown is thinning. The only bald men in my family was my mom's dad. I tell you this because while Androgenetic Alopecia can be hereditary, it can always happen.
