Hey. I have visited on this forum a couple of times (a million times). I haven't posted anything so far because I'm bit shy to write in English.

So I would like to now your honest opinion about my hairline. I don't have any old pictures to show. I'm 30 yo, my father was totally bald at this age, but from mother's side I can't name any bald persons. I have two brothers, 38 and 27 yo. Seems like their hairline is much better, it's like a straight line when mine is more like an egg or a football straight from the Super Bowl :D.

So my hair has been almost always buzzed or actually it's been even shaved with a razor and now I've been growing out my hair since last Christmas so all in all this the first time in my life when I've been worried about my hairline. I'd like to grow these for many many years but I'm concerned that a razor is my daily friend in the future.

Thanks for the answers.

I went to a doctor this week and it took about 30 seconds to get a prescription for finasteride. Do I want to use it? I don't know. Tough luck to be the only one of three brothers who's losing hair. Let's see how it goes 6 months later.

Well, try not to use finasteride, watch your hair for a while and then take some action.

Hey again. It's been now about 10 months of hair growth and two months since the previous post. I have not taken any meds and I'm not going to take in the near future.

All in all it feels like that it's been the same since last summer, but the fourth pic is something what I'm scared of, it looks like the width of the hairline is like three fingers. At least I'm still able to hide my temples.

Alot of people wish they started treatments sooner but it's up to you....once your hair really goes to shyyyt you'll be wishing you had started sooner. But if your happy that's all that matter.

Precisely, coming from an old timer- I wish I had started sooner.

What did your doctor say? If he said that you are not balding, why would you get medication? About temples, why are people here ashamed of them? I find them charming... NW0 heads look like a ball...

Pretty much nothing, it was a very quick meeting, but since I got the prescription I thought I'm balding. I told the same story that my dad was totally bald at this age and from my mother's side everything is fine which is very rare in the northern part of Europe I guess. So no any microscoping (or how do you call it). He just did some pull tests and took a look at my hair. Almost 100 euros well spent.

This is literally the joke "Hey Doctor, my arm hurts when I do this movement -Then Don't move it, 50 euro" xD
He can see with the microscope if you are actually balding.. I wouldn't get on treatment with so many side effects if I wasn't sure that I was balding.

you need to compare pictures form your childhood if you want to know whether its your natural hairline or not

It's been about 10 months and a few trims since my previous post so lets update my current situation. I turned 31 yo a couple of days ago and I guess I still have some hair although the hairline was already receding and thinning 7/2019.

Not on big three so far. I've been eating pretty healthy. Can't avoid the stress at these times, but it's the same with everyone in this year. Definetely going to go on fina if it (when) looks worse in the near future.

Looking at your original post... I would have recommended you start finasteride.

However, from what I can tell your hair hasn’t changed at all the past year, which is good.

Keep analyzing every 6 months.
