Do many people use DUTAs instead of Avodart ( with success )

Just wondering how many people are having success with DUTAS ( Dr.Reddys ) from Inhouse pharmacy or any other similar store?.. Avodart is just too pricey

There are no legit generic dutasteride only Avodart brand.
When it loose patent then it can be made generic.

well you can say the same thing about Finpecia then since the patent on Propecia hasn't expired. Only the Proscar patent has.

Jayman's right. India doesn't respect patents on drugs. The generics are real, they are just not legal to sell in the United States or other countries that abide by US patents.

ive used both gsk avodart and Dr reddy's dutas


after a period of ineffectiveness on dutas from United Pharmacies (i suspect crap drugs) i switched back to avodart, which i'll stick to from now on

When you say ineffectiveness...do you mean hairloss got worse when you switched from genuine to Dutas?

There are so many generics on UP and I went for Dutas as others here have had success on it. I would try another one though like cipla if many are certain Dutas from UP is suspect.

yeah hairloss was wasn't decreasing like it did when i first used Avodart, the quality of my hair was crap as well. When i realised this i doubled my dose of it to 1mg a day and got awfully sick.

I hear there are some who have had success with Dutas from UP and some (like me) who haven't. The same goes with dutas from other online pharmacies. I guess its just pot luck when it comes to the generics.

i think it was about the same, but i stuck with dutas for quite a while due to financial problems, i think i took from about early 2004 to early 2006 before changing back to avodart.

That cost me some hair. :cry:

I just read this after ordering 3 months of Dutas. Should I go back and change my order to proper Avodart rather than generic (dutas). Cost is not as important to me as keeping my hair :lol:

my brother had the same experinece. dutasteride EOD with grapefruit juice was working good for him for a year. then he cut back to 2x per week on my advice, and got a shed. Now he is back to EOD and hopes to grow it back.

i-n-h-o-u-s-e. pharmacy. i started taking it every day at first and it wiped my libido out within a couple of weeks which was enough to convince me.
