Its weird. As a black guy who keeps his hair naturally short, most people don't even notice when I get haircuts and things of that nature. It might be different for white folks though

Dude it is better to be 5'9 with hair than 6;6 without hair. If you have no hair you are finished end of discussion. If you don't want to accept it don't ask on the forums. Denial is the simple solution to you're unpleasant emotional feelings related to hairloss and it is a very normal reaction, but at the end of the day it will NOT save your hair. If you want to save some hair you know what your options are.

I am not in denial about hair loss. I am asking what people think about hair in general. From a personal perspective, I don't tend to notice receding hairlines. I don't notice hair loss unless someone is significantly bald. So my point was, maybe do people notice receding hairlines. I have seen people call someone's hairstyle a "comb over" when it really wasn't . It was just how they part their hair.

I think its true that its more subtle if someone isnt majorly balding but I think you would be surprised how good people are at noticing any hair loss even some small loss at density. I think looking older is the major downside. Most guys getting ID for being 21 even though they are like 30 have exceptional hair for their age. Although of course its not just hair its many factors. How important is hair is in the eye of the person. Some men dont care and others do

As far as strangers go

I always notice hair, but I think it's because of my own hair thinning. I know I always check out people's hair situation, I think subconsciously it's for the purpose of comparison.

I think yes, not like "look, a bald guy omg", but like "remember that cool guy...?", "hmm... the bald one?", and i don't think it's cool.

Paranoia is certainly a common side effect of male pattern baldness, whatever stage. If this "reality" would be a tragic case of the patient who involuntarily experiences visual hallucinations then the diagnosis/prognosis would obviously be a separate, problematic issue and maybe treatable to some degree. But it's what's on top of our head and not only what's inside it that makes this issue a double whammy.

So yes most people notice hair loss more, mostly if it's (male pattern baldness) happening to them.
