How much do you think I would regain in 4-6 months. I just started with finasteride 1 month ago. I've been using minoxidil 5% for 2 years, it stopped working, but I still continue it.

Minoxydil never stops working.
If you don't take antiandrogene, male pattern baldness wins the battle.
I think you can regain to a norwood 2 if you are lucky and you respond well. i would say 30% chance you regain ground.

Depends upon how you respond to meds, i think you may get some minor thickening but don't expect a miracle.

That isn't true buddy. minoxidil effectiveness peaks at a year for most and slowly loses effectiveness over the next year. finasteride even stops working ( if it works at all ) eventually.

I don't think it loses effectiveness, I think the male patern baldness is winning the battle.

Some study shows that if you respond well to finasteride, it keeps working 10 years after.

I mean yeah you have a good chance of holding onto that little bit of hair you still have but honestly at this point you have lost so much I think you would need a hair transplant as well to make a noticeable improvement.

Bruh I have more hair on the left side of my ball sack. Forget it. You'll look younger if you shave that sh*t off and get scalp micro pigmentation from someone experienced.

How long from when you first started noticing loss did it take to get to this point?

My hair has been like that since last year (2017), I only use minoxidil that time. Right now I'm 1 month on finasteride, I think it caused the shed like that. Sucks

Really? But I can still see hair follicles on top, you think there's no more chance of thickening with finasteride and minoxidil?

Your hair didn't magically go from full head to that in one day, I'm asking how long did it take not how long it's been like that.

I noticed my hair was falling out since 2009. I was losing a lot. Then I started to see a noticeably thinning on top in 2015. Started to used minoxidil and had results actually and I regained a lot that it covered my hair on top and let my hair grow quite long. Also made me grew a goatee and face beard. I thought I had my problem solved. Then at start of january 2017, I decided to have a short hair cut but then when I look at the mirror, I noticed that my top is thinning like that on the pic. I thought it was another shed from minoxidil. But 6 months with it, it never had any results and my top has always been like that. That's why I decided to take finasteride now coz I didn't know that dht will overpower minoxidil through time.

Yeah minoxodil was your first mistake. A lot of people start with minoxidil, which doesn't get to the root of the problem, which is DHT attacking your follicles. People see hair regrowth on minoxidil and think problem solved, but eventually the follicles will die from the DHT if untreated and minoxidil loses its effectiveness.

This is why I start with finasteride and avoid minoxidil.

You might recover a decent amount if you respond well to finasteride, but it will take 6 months to a year to be noticeable. For now you can use toppik to thicken up the appearance.

He would need a tub of Toppik every day. Its pointless. OP if you must try treatment shave it all off first and keep it buzzed for a year. Then let it grow out. Everyone will notice that heap of Toppik on your head otherwise and youll look ridiculous

I second this OP. At this point its probably better to shave it off,get SMP, and get jacked and lean.

OP you're like a NW5-6 IMO, I don't see much hair up top. The other problem is you have straight, fine hair... You would need a ton of grafts to look sorta passable - maybe 6000 or 7000 - and even that's not gonna work any miracles

it's up to you, 2 transplants with 7000 grafts is gonna cost you $28,000. Are you okay spending that much? I don't think finasteride or rogaine is gonna do much. I've seen finasteride have some minor regrowth on people with decent hair but balding slightly in the crown...you're very thin all over

It looks like he only has a small head so 4000 grafts + finasteride for 12 months would probably give him a good result. If he heads for Turkey then only £4000-7000k would be the most he would pay.

Give the Finasteride a chance.

You should stick with the Minoxidil though. Hate to say it, but you might want to
cut Proscar (five milligram Finasteride tablets) in five, and take a larger dose.

It will take more than a month to work.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks. Well 1 month with finasteride and I noticed that the hair fall noticeably stopped, a month ago when I wake up, I can see lots and lots of hair in my pillow which is depressing but now when I wake up, I can't barely see a strand, maybe a couple, but I'm surprised. It may be the only positive result I gained with finas. My crown is still thin though and yes I would stick to it.
