See the picture attached. Sorry that it looks greasy, i had just woken up. Should I see a dermatologist? Are they expensive?

From my knowledge, only a doctor with a proscope can check for miniturised hairs. You cannot see miniturised hair using the naked eye.

If I were you, I would book a consultation with a reputable hair loss doctor and ask them to use a proscope to look for miniturisation. Only then can they tell you if you're balding.

Looked at the pictures from your old thread. You have male pattern baldness. It is thinning and yes go to a doctor, get on finasteride or min or both. Whatever you like.

Thanks both for replies!

How can one find a good doctor for this? Will it cost a lot? I only make minimum wage.

Where do you live? In England? If so, you can just get finasteride from an online legit pharmacy.

A good doctor? Most doctors don't give a rat's *** about your hair loss as you won't die if you lost all of it at a young age.

Just go to your GP, if he does not prescribe finasteride, go to a dermatologist. Going to another GP won't hurt either if he rejects to prescribe finasteride.

I live in United States, and what I mean is, how do I find a doctor that will care. I looked up dermatologists on the American Dermatologists of America near me, and closest one um... he has some official reprimands for his practice...

would a regular doctor at a clinic be able to tell if it is "miniaturized hairs"? would those drugs even help with this?

I would just like to keep what I have... I give up worrying about trying to regrow the sides... but please let the center not go away! I have had long hair all my life. It is my IDENTITY. I do not wish to change who I am, shaving or even having short hair.

If I lose my hair it will cause an effect similar to those Merovingians who had their hair cut... or Samson!

I am 23. My father does not have it as far back on the sides, but probably farther on the center than I do currently. My grandfather through his side, has more hair than both of us. I do not know my mothers family hair history, besides her brother bald all over the top, and her other son who is not of the same father as me, balding at the back of head and front.

My twin brother is similar to me right now, but not as far. Suspect stress is causing it to go much faster for me

Other brother is not having problem besides sides but again not as far.

by the way... i dont care if i go bald after I hit say... 26... 30...

but I want to keep my hair until those years. I wasted my entire youth playing video games, virgin, no friends. I just want a year or two to have a life... my hair is the only thing I like about myself

I understand what you mean. I started at 19 and it was aggressive as hell. Unfortunately, stress has nothing to do with it. I guess you could just go to a dermatologist or a GP and hear what he has to say. If he prescribes it, then that's it, if not then your search continues. There is no way to find a dermatologist or GP that cares for hair. It's not like they state on their sites "We care for your hair." Go and see, trial and error is the only way.

And yes finasteride helps tremendously in keeping what you have. Believe me, you need it. As you live in the states, you can buy Minoxidil foam without prescription even at the Wall Mart. If your doctors do not want to prescribe finasteride, you can get on Min without their permission. Keep that in mind, you can take control over it by Min, but I would favour finasteride because it actually tackles the issue at its roots, i.e. androgens.

Good luck and let us know how it went.

So is finasteride, I have to ask dermatologist for it? And thinking, I know those short hairs used to be longer. So they are getting shorter. Therefore they will be gone soon? They are getting short fast!

And what is this foam? Are these things expensive ? Are these any side effects

No one knows if they will be gone soon, but they will be gone, that's for sure. What is your family history regarding baldness?

Minoxidil foam, google it, barely side effects and no not expensive if you live in the USA. For finasteride you need a prescription (AFAIK). I did hear that in the USA you could get this without a prescription, but I don't know that for sure, never been in the States.

Better do something soon or else it will be gone.

Here is an update picture because when I looked this morning I am in horror :( it is all happening so fast, these didnt used to be all short!

and the picture outside is my older brother, 25 years old.

Father is missing sides of head but not as far. Grandfather on his side had full head of hair in his late age.

Mother's father and grandfather I never met. Mother's brother is bald in circle spot, and in middle. Her son who is from a different father is same, but curly hair

Twin brother is same as me but not as far. That is why I think stress perhaps is making it progress faster than him. He is telling me not to take drugs to fix these problems, so against your advice.
