Hey, I shave my head, and im cool wiht that, but lately ive been anlaysing myself, hairloss, weight, etc.
I seem to look great in some mirrors, like under artificial light, and sunlight in some cases, but in others i think i look ill or just not me. I never used to notice this before I started becoming paranoid about my looks due to hairloss, becaause before i never felt the need to look into mirrors.
Now that I do I cant seem to come to the conclusion what i do actually look like, I think this really affects me from day to day life, because some times i look good, and then other times i just dont look like me.
Does anybody understand what I mean? does anybody else analyse them selves like me?
Is this normal? do we all look diffenrt in some mirrors compared to others? Are you happy with what you look like in some mirrors and un-happy with what you look like in other ones?
Im hoping someone knows what im on about, I think im going insane again. lol, f*** knows.

I notice exactly these things every single day, mainly about my hair because that is what I look at. Depends on the type of lighting, how directly it is focused onto scalp, etc. Various restrooms tend to keep me honest, and others indicate there is little problem superficially.

Yep, I hate my bathroom mirror the most because the strong direct light above the mirror shows my diffuse thinning but other mirrors I look totally fine....

I feel your pain!

I am a truck driver and two years ago (before my finasteride brought about results) I would look into the side mirror and any sort of happiness i was feeling would go away...it totally made my bald spot look horrible.

Also, I have dark circles under my eyes and I know artificial light makes them look so much worse then sunlight because my skin is thin and the inside lights penetrate the skin so easily.

It's tough to keep your self-esteem up with all these things making us look so bad but I guess we just have to accept the fact that what we see (in the bathroom and maybe in general) isn't what people are seeing in us.

Here's to hoping we all can find what we are looking for though. :)

Propecia

Follically, I have exactly all your symptoms... from dark circles to hating car side and other mirrors!

I read your other post where you say you only saw Propecia results after two years. Can you explain what kind of results these were and how you saw them? Do you take one pill a day? Did you also see body hair reduction while on Propecia?

And have you found a cheap place to buy propecia?

I was so ecited about Hylexin, but it seems to be a bust. Thankfully I did not spend almost 100 bucks to try it and just read all the negative reviews.

Thanks.

I use regular Propecia, i get it from the pharmacy, and it costs me 180 Cdn for 90 tablets. I've read that the patent is set to expire June 19, 2006. I am not sure if that applies to all countries or just the USA. I will prolly order online regardless for it when i can get generic stuff. (I won't use anything that violates patent laws. We get the drugs we have today because companies can make money off what they invent.)

Propecia stopped my hairloss right away pretty much, but it took a long time before it really did the trick. After 2 years the re-growth was quite good. After 1.5 years it was quite noticable. I took just one tablet a day (which is what they tell you to take.)

Regarding DCs, Hylexin will only treat a certain kind of problem....if u have blood like stuff in your skin, it will treat that. But if the darkness comes from below your skin u have to thicken your skin up.

Try using KGF (I haven't used this yet but have it coming in the mail), EGF, Kinetin, Palmityol-Pentapeptide-3, natural active peptides, and magnesium ascorbyl phosphate if u have thin skin. You can get all this from http://www.skinactives.com

I also use Matrixyl 3000 which i got from http://www.gardenofwisdom.com but if u live in the US i'd get ti from http://www.personalformulator.com or http://www.lotioncrafter.com.

I also plan on adding retinyl acetate sooner or later..

Best of luck.

let me just come back to it, (im drunk btw) i just need to clear up some things.I dont no if nay one agrees with this but here goes(its weird i know)
Do this looking in a mirror with good lighting.

Stright up close to the mirror, looks good

1metre back, i look bad

2 meter's back,i look better

Keep going back. look good

Right, so you this may come across as weird, but this is f*** all compared to the mini experiments ive been doing. im constantly checking my sefl in the mirror, and i think im starting to go insane.
Can anybody do these steps and see what they find, obviously the lighting is going to be diffenrt from eachperson, but it would help my sanity if you could please say what you find.
thanks, Dave[/u]

Thanks follically! Very helpful although most of the products you listed are gibberish to me...I will have to try some though.

Which of them worked for your dark circles and how did you hear about them?

So did Propecia reduce your body hair from the get go?

I live in the US and two docs have refused to give me a prescription for Propecia or Proscar:-( Grrrr..

I prefer not to buy it online, but will probably have to. I have heard that United Pharmacies is reliable...you seem to know about these online places...any opinions?

Thanks again for your posts. You should have much more posts by now than you actually do:)

I never had much body hair. I think it's stayed the same.

I just did a bunch of reading online regarding building collagen and my knowledge base grew from there. I'm most excited by the Epidermal Growth factor and the Keratinocyte Growth Factor.

http://www.smartskincare.com is a great resource. No selling of any skin care products. An infopack is offered although i've never purchased it.

omgstfu, you sound like you're drunk.

Make it a goal to only look at yourself in the mirror TWICE a day.

Do it.

Like dark_one said it has to do with lightning, in general I like to see myself in the mirror most of the time but I'm a bit afraid of pictures though, I often look really bad under bad lightning or if the colors get messed up. I believe the mirror shows how we really look but often if you think about it, most of the time when we look at someone(or someone at us) we don't pay attention to details, we just see the face as a whole, so if you look a bit bad in the mirror most people won't notice unless they spend a lot of time looking at you.

Yeah, this is a huge problem of mine. I hate it. Constantly trying to catch my reflection and seeing how i look. Catch a good image of yourself and stop looking in the mirror.
