Do you ever see your new vellus hair turned terminal after starting treatments? Vellus hairs on the infants dont have hair follicles, and yet lots of us get newly popped up vellus on the hairline after treatments, so they must have been hair follicles that previously being weakened by the damned DHT, and now without the influences of DHT under treatment, they are awakening! But are they strong enough to get back to terminal hairs?

I have only seen a few cases in the success stories for those who are on extreme regimes.

I want to know this from first hand experience too. But I don't
I've read that finasteride should produce healthy terminal hair, not just vellus hair. This, of course, does not include area where it's completely bald.

However it's not known if the new terminal hair will be as thick as the old hair before it's affected by DHT.

Ever since I upped the dutasteride dosage to 1mg per day, I see lots of vellus hairs in the frontal area, well, they are smaller and lighter than vellus hairs, almost invisible, but they are there! I hope they will grow to be terminal.

I actually can't differentiate between vellus and terminal hair anymore.
Since taking Finasteride,I've noticed some random strands becoming visible, but stopped at around 1.5-2cm in length. They've literally just stayed there and not grown at all over the last 6 months! It's hard to see on picture, but I attempted to stick the 3-4 strands down with water on my forehead on this photo.

Yeah this is sad and does not make sense, why would they not grow! They should turn back to terminal hairs if enough DHT is inhibited!

Maybe those hairs just need a boost; like minoxidil...the meds keep DHT down, so your follicles can breathe, but without the boost, those little hairs are going to take FOREVER to turn terminal

I already use minoxidil 12%, plus occasional dermarolling. There are also a number of hairs coming through the other temple which are stagnant at 0.5cm and not at all growing for months.. I guess if I was in the habit of keeping a buzz cut they would have been assumed as 'terminal', where in fact they're very much stagnant at length.

Who makes your 12% minoxidil?

Belgravia Clinic. As discussed elsewhere, their treatment package is rather overpriced as they seem to be seen as the 'most known'. I believe some users order it from other reliable sources with added topical Finasteride too...I will most likely be doing that instead once the treatment duration lapsed with Belgravia.
