Yeah maybe so, I know in movies even the poor wore them but I imagine maybe that's just Hollywood.

But it's not the availablity or price I'm talking about. I'll never wear a hairpiece because of the sheer stress that someone may find out or I'd be forced to tell someone.

If it was just commonplace stylish and acceptable though nobody would mind.

Having recently been treated for appendicitis, I would likely have been dead by now had I lived in the 1700s. I would also have been bald by now since there was no finasteride or any other effective hair loss treatments available back then.
