Im 21 years old and losing 25-30 strands of hair a day and there is a white bulb on the end of each one...i use nizoral, nioxin, and have been taking propecia for about 2 1/2 months and still losing hair. or tell me whats wrong with my condition...

cause today i was working out and sweating more than usual and i looked in the mirror and saw my scalp (where my hair line is receding). it had a lot of white stuff thats probably the reason why my hair follicles arent growing because of all that fungus, bacteria whatever crap it is, is there preventing growth of my hair follicles but i use nizoral which does help but doesnt stop it!!!

so you guys think i should see a dermatologist?? did seeing a dermatologist help you guys??? maybe a dermatolgist can give me some advice that hasnt crossed my mind yet? Thanks!! answers will be greatly appreciated! and please give me some tips on tryin to prevent my receding hairline, im barely 21!!!! i still gotta date girls!!!

hey bud.
unfourtunatly most dermatologists dont specalize in hair. obviously their biggest group of clients suffer from acne.
anyway. I did see one when i started losing hair.
he said in a nutshell.. propecia and rogaine are the only things worth spending your money on.

and he's right.

nizoral or any other dandruff shampoo will control your flakeyness that your experiencing. but from what i've read, a lot of people start getting flakes and itchy scalp when they start losing their hair. most blame it on rogaine.

so your best bet is to do the research yourself.
most people here use the BIG 3 propecia/rogaine/nizoral.
some people have luck.. some people still lose hair.

in any event.. be sure to eat healthy... take a good multivitamin. GNC makes a good one that has every supplement that everyone takes like biotin, zinc and saw palmetto.

so... take this to heart.. because as a newbie to hair loss i f*****g freaked out..

try not to stress yourself out.. stress accelerates hair loss. remember that right NOW is probabaly the best your hair is ever gonig to look. so go out and dont get down on yourself.

Try using any tricomin/american crew spray with copper peptides, I find that when I experience scalp itch and flaking, it helps greatly.

re:

One must stay on propecia for a minimum of one year before concluding anything....period. The early part of the treatment is the hardest because you obsess over your hair and over analyze everything. Not to mention, many people (like me) see their hair get worse before it gets better. Take photos each month to evaluate your progress, this is key. After a year take a look at your photos and evaluate whether the treatment is working. If you post the photos on this site, I promise that many people will give you an unbiased opinion in order to help you evaluate your progress.
Remember, maintaining what you have is also a postive result because male pattern baldness is progressive and haulting it is a major step. We know that DHT is a major cause of male pattern baldness (perhaps the only cause) and hair grows slowly in cycles, so it takes time for your hair follicles to adjust to life without DHT.
Also rememeber that this is a genetic condition that you had no control over and it is only our unfair society that makes bald or balding men feel ugly. You have made a positive choice to try to save your hair, but also recognize that there is nothing wrong with you with or without hair. Good luck.
