Do you need to take finasteride at the same time every day?

I have asked this before with no real answers. I'm almost at six months on prescription Propecia and no real noticable results. I'm at a point in my hairloss that isn't that bad. I just want to stop the hairloss until I can get an hair transplant. I haven't even noticed a reduction in shedding yet.

Though I'm not really sure if I shed too much. I get 6 to 12 hairs when I shampoo and through out the day I get 1 to 4 when I run my hands through it. Either way it freaks me out.

Anyways I haven't seen any improvement and I was wondering if maybe it's because I don't take my finasteride at the same time everyday. Some days I have to wake up early for class and other days I sleep in. I usually take it as soon as I wake up though. And that can vary a good 4 hours sometimes. On rare ocasions I will forget to take it until late.

I was just wondering how important it is to take finasteride at the same time everyday? Does it even matter?

-Thanks

With the medication I take there is roughly a four hour "window" in the mornings where I take my pills; generally just before breakfast.

It's also not uncommon (about 1 day a week) where I will completely forget to take meds, it all seems to work out just fine :)

It makes absolutely no difference when you take it and a slight variation in your dosing schedule is absolutely not going to make a difference. You've only been on it for 6 months so give it another 6 months before jumping to any conclusions. Alot of guys don't see results until after a year.

Good luck.

I was told by my doctor to take it at the same time (with or without food) every day. Much in the same way when a women takes birth control. I believe that entails a 4hr window.
