Do you shave your body to look more defined?

I was just wondering how many guys shave their chest, stomach, back and arms. I am quite hairy in places and since I've got more definition I've started shaving my chest, stomach and shoulders because I feel that my body looks better without the sporadic hair. Do many guys shave? Because when I glance around in the changing every guy is a hairy bastard, and I feel kind of weird with a chest as smooth as a babys ***.

After using a loofah spunge, I shave chest/stomach with an electric shaver (I get irritation with razors). Trim legs, never shave them.

I trim legs once a week using a 1" guard, my legs are not very hairy but I do this anyway as it makes them look even less dense. It'll work for someone who has a lot of hair as well.

I shave chest area every day in shower with electric (water proof) razor.

I would avoid waxing (or nair'ing) because any method of hair removal at the root can lead to ingrown hairs, and if you are going for that smooth look you have to do it all over. Some guys shave/wax their legs, but not their arms - that looks funny.

Goto the beauticians every month to have all my body hair waxed (excluding arms, legs) I think that I look more defined like this.

I have a consultation for this on monday. Gonna use a GentleLase unit. Yea, cute name. I bet it's gentle. I've heard each zap is like being hit with a huge rubber band stretched back a few feet. Can't wait.

How'd it work for ya? Has the hair stayed away? Any side effects?

As for body hair, you kids are such wusses, lol. I don't have any back hair, and only a few chest hairs, so I use an epilator (picture a rotating mechanical drum with a dozen tweezers) to rip out my few chest hairs. I do my arms too, as they're thin with sparse hair... just looks better somehow with NO hair. Hurts like hell though.

Nair is awful. Irritating, and doesn't do any better than shaving anyway. And by the way, NEVER try it on your face. Trust me on this one.

Can't remember the name of the laser for the life of me. IMO worthwhile if you've got good insurance coverage. I went to a derm that I'm friendly with, and he put it down as something my provider would cover at the time.

The Doctor also mentioned to me that because I have fairly pale skin with black hair, I was an excellent candiate for the treatment.

Yes..according to a laser clinic expert I talked with, laser is very effective on the ***.

Upper arms are usually the most difficult according to this expert.

the best laser for people with light skin is the gentlelaseplus. the diode and yag heat more slowly to give dark skin time to cool so the heat can be taken away without it getting burned. these two require that the hairs be course and dark. the gentle lase has shorter pulses that heat the hair fast, killing even slightly pigmented hairs. Just make sure you don't have a tan, or they will use a lower setting and your hairs will come back blond.
make sure they use a fluence of at least 16, and preferably higher so you don't get blond hairs coming back. some techs will use lower settings just to get more sessions out of you. they used a 12 on me and it did not hurt at all.

i buzz my hair with a short guard when it reaches 1/2 inch. I wish I could buzz it shorter, but the hair becomes like a cactus and digs into my pants and hurts.

I used nair and epilstop plus. both burn my skin much faster than my hair, and are good only for taking sharp edges off recently trimmed hair.

i waxed myself 4 times, and it hurts like hell and cuts your skin because it is pulled out against the grain. it took a week for it to grow back. and my skin was bleading in places most of that week.

shaving my legs and butt is a bad idea. when I get more moeny, i'll finish my laser treatment with the gentlelase plus and demand that they use a fluence of 20 at 18mm or i am going somewhere else.

I know some people here on the board don't like Nair. I needed to find an alternative to laser treatment to get rid of my back hair and on shoulders.

I got Nair's Hair Remover for Men. I tried it today and can I say I'm happy with it and I know why it shouldn't be put on nipples.

It's dpme a good job, it's somewhat thick but I managed to get most of my back hair off without any problems. I still have the front to take care of.

I got sick of my chest looking like a carpet (j/k!) so I bought it. I don't think it attracts women either a hairy chest.

I'm still going to use it.
