Just went to get my blood test and spoke to my Doctor about finasteride, she recommended it saying to take it in small doses (1mg). I am having testosterone and thyroid tests as well as a couple others, but she said they cant test DHT and for that I would need to see an endocrinologist. Would it be worth it to get that done? I am really sure I have very high DHT since I have a lot of body hair and my head is probably a NW3 or 2V
I am still hesitant to start taking finasteride...do certain body types respond better to it? such as endomorphs vs ectomorphs...i have muscle but also have stubborn belly and lower back fat, would i be predisposed to getting gyno or sexual sides?

Everyone responds differently to Finasteride, most respond well to the medication. Just start taking the 1 mg dosage of Finasteride that your doctor prescribed you. Side effects aren't that common, most won't get them so I wouldn't worry if I were you. If you get side effects, you can just quit the medication and they'll subide. It's not going to hurt to try the medication, please don't be so hesitant to start Finasteride.

i was thinking to start with .5 eod,
also im thinking to get back on creatine for increased gym gainz, could this counteract the finasteride on the scalp? i dont want to get rid of all my dht but i guess keep it under a decent level...is it true that finasteride causes an increase in testosterone?

Yes, finasteride inhibits the conversion of test to DHT, so you have more test when using finasteride.

Dht is not needed for gainz.
Bro if u are relatively in good shape you have not.much to worry about. I too have some stubborn chest fast. Got gyno lumps from finasteride about a little smaller than a penny and am able to stop them from growing by running 350 calories about a half hour after I take my fine... It stopped complete irritation of nipples

Make sure you try online pharmacies to find the cheapest price for your prescription, I get it from a place for $22 a month vs like $40 generic at Walgreens.

finasteride increases test ca. 6% and dutasteride a little more. However, it's still within normal range. This little extra test won't make much difference, think how much bodybuilders increase their test by.

Also there is anecdotal evidence about creatine increasing DHT so be aware.

i was on creatine last year and dont remember it having an effect on my hair, but i defienitely noticed results from the gym when i was cycling it...
with dht, so would it be worth getting checked as well? my insurance most likely wouldnt cover it, but since i have already submitted by blood sample i think ill wait for a baseline of my test levels first...
i heard costco is a good place to get finasteride for cheap...can the cut the pills too?

Just got my blood test results.
looks like my test is in normal range (600) but i am vitamin D deficient...could this have any effect on hairloss? dont think so, but i have noticed that I get sick more often now.
Thyroid is also normal, but I have an elevated liver enzyme that my Doctor wants to retest.
also have high cholesterol (228 lol) so trying to bring that down slightly

Thinking about adding zinc as well when i start finasteride next week.

OK just picked up my first 3mo supply of generic from Costco for $23.
Didnt even take a pill yet just touched the paper bag and already i think im no longer interested in sex and im pretty sure my penis is 2 inches smaller than last night.
