Does finasteride thicken hair or just maintain it?

Hi

İf I get finasteride with nizoral shampoo, Can using both of them without rogaine thicken my miniaturized hair after 12 or 18 months or 2 years? I dont want to use rogaine, I dont want to be dependant on minoxidil.Everybody say a different thing so İs there anybody out there who use finasteride only and get thickening of hair?

I know they work in different way but I'm wondering if finasteride blocks dht, why do I need rogaine? if there is less dht, my hair will be nourished better and start to grow thicker again?

İn short will propecia alone thicken my existing miniaturized hair ? I'm not talking about regrowth, just existing hairs.

The main propecia study showed 85% of guys kept their hair, and half of those guys regrew hair, so about forty percent overall, decent odds! I've been on finasteride for 11 months now, it's just about the same thickness, hard to say either way, but I have seen some pretty good temple regrowth, which I actually much prefer. I'm hoping for some thickness as I go on as I can't do anything particularly interesting with my hair at the moment, but I'm grateful just to have an improved hairline and kept my hair so far.

I'm like you though, I'd rather stay on just finasteride and nizoral than add rogaine if I can help it - it'd definitely work but seems such a hassle, and makes the whole thing feel a bit more real and desperate than just a pill a day to not go bald, heck I only use nizoral about once a week now and it doesn't seem to affect anything. I'd say do what you feel comfortable with.
