Does it annoy you when people make out male pattern baldness is untreatable?

I felt kinda patronized when I first told people that I was going to try to reverse or treat it :(

People are so closed minded. I think it's just because for SO many years it has been difficult to treat and now FINALLY sitting here in this day and age we not only understand the causes in far more detail than ever before, but also have some great treatments. People just think that hair loss treatments are still nothing more than like... witches brews or potions sold by travelling salesmen!! lol

We're not living in the middle ages... rofl

Sorry, I guess I just had to get it off my chest! I felt so patronized by this lady who was like "oh no stop trying to treat it and use things for it..." even though she didn't even know what Finasteride WAS... lol

Ok, that's all from me! heh :)

So true people can be real dicks even some of your family members...Lucky for me,my mum and dad have been pretty understanding.Humans have always been superficial and shallow creatures but this has only worsened in the last couple of decades.People who go through male pattern baldness at a young age often end up developing a lot of mature thoughts.

On the other hand we have these assholes who dont know sh*t about things like male pattern baldness yet they have their own beliefs on what causes baldness and make needless comments about bald/balding people.I just wish one day scum like these would just be wiped away from the face of the Earth :2gunsfiring_v1:

The converse is also annoying. Some of us have tried finasteride, minoxidil and nizoral, and our male pattern baldness progresses as ever.

People look at me, and say they have a pill for that now. Oh, really? STFU.

yeah I didn't think of it being that way around ._.

Finasteride is a WONDERFUL thing I think, it's the closest we've ever come to a cure as far as I'm aware.

However yes, if your follicles are very sensitive due to your genetics, then Finasteride will be less effective, as lowering your total DHT can only help so far. Beyond then you're onto topical remedies, and ways of lowering sebum (which IMO makes a difference) :)

Exactly because of advertising there are some people who belive that rogain is a fullproof cure even for NW7's.
The truth is M.p.b is still uncureable in the majority of cases. You need to a) catch it early b) Be lucky and be good reponder and c) Be lucky to not suffer sides.

well treatable and curable are different things though aren't they? These days I think male pattern baldness is treatable but a little tricky. I reckon in 5 years it will be easily treatable, and in 10 years it will be cured! Woot! :)

I wish you're right but that sounds overly optimistic.

SO how goes the fight lads?

Is it still the big 3 that is the best solution? My head is getting worse, it's not like I can afford much.
