Does Longer Hair Fall Out More Easily?

19 y/o with a Norwood 1.5, but diffuse thinning. My hair loss isn't externally obvious at first, but upon a closer look at my hairline and scalp, the thinning is pretty apparent. For this reason I grow my hair out to medium length, because I think it's harder to see my scalp. However, my hair has recently been falling out faster than usual, which is a bit concerning. Do you think this has to do with the length of my hair, or some other factor?

It has nothing to do with the length of your hair. It's likely you are noticing it more because the hairs are longer.

Well longer hair would cause more stress on the follicle, depending on how you wear it.

Though I'm sure the effects are minimal

My regimen is just 5% kirkland signature minoxidil liquid 2x a day (Just finished my first month of that so that's probably why I'm shedding so much) and 1% nizoral ~3x a week. Would you recommend adding finasteride and/or biotin to this routine? I'm 19 so I'm a little concerned of finasteride's side effects, and I've heard mixed reviews on the success of biotin.
