re:

Let me explain. At conception, your dad has sex with this pretty little thing that you may know as "mom". Mom and dad both contribute to your genetic make-up, please don't make me punch a hole in my monitor by bringing up the fact that all the men in your family have hair and yet you are going bald. Just give me one article, from a respected researcher, that proves that male pattern baldness is not a genetic predisposition, just one please. Oh and Ms. Audrey the snake oil salesman does not count.
The better question is, why do I waste my time responding to such retardation?

There is a multitude of physical and mental negatives caused by stress. Stress can effect your sleeping and eating habits and can lead to increased anxiety and alcohol, drug and tobacco use. All of these factors can worsen the condition of your mind and body (including your hair) in many ways.

you ARE loosing your because of your genes, NOT stress,it may well be a throwback, your great great grandfather may have male pattern baldness, and it may have layed dormant until now, where it is now showing yourself in YOU, yes you are very unlucky but it IS heredity

denial will get you no where

also do you how many people, think there fathers are their fathers, when thier actually NOT, hundreds of thousands, do you think your mother would tell you if she had an affair, - probably not !

firstly go get a DNA test, so you can confirm 100 % that your father is your father, and also that your not adpoted, your parents will have to do this aswel.

if the test comes back that they are your parents, except that your male pattern baldness has skipped generations and come out in YOU !

now lets stop these stupid outlandish theories , male pattern baldness IS 100% HEREDITY-FACT !

Maybe your Mom had the Baldness Recessive Gene and your Dad had the Baldness Recessive Gene (or Recessive Allele whatever).and that can = you have the Bald Dominant Gene.

Or something along that line... i havnet done genetics in a while.

You're dad could be carrying the gene and pass it on to you...just because he isnt balding doesnt mean that he doesnt carry the gene. Maybe his dad's dad's dad was bald and its just really rare in your family. You just happend to get the Dominant Balding Gene...unluckily

Is it always the case that male pattern baldness happens only if someone in your family is already affected from it. I dont think so.

Why?

No one ..and I mean NO ONE in my parents family has ever balded. My 90 yr old great granpa died 8 years ago at 90 and he had a head full of hair. Everyone, dad, mom, uncles, grandpa, grandma ..no hair loss.

Thats the main reason when 7-8 years ago my family doctor completely ruled out male pattern baldness when I started seeing hairloss. everyone told me its school/exam stress. Now my hair has receded a lot :( and its a clear case of male pattern baldness. Again , I got my blood tested to make sure its male pattern baldness and everything is great except high cholestrol ( now where did that come from , I am just cursed I think)

Is it that I am the one who will start this in the family history. Damn I will be hated for centuries and centuries by my stll not existent family.

re:

Like most genes, current research suggests that the male pattern baldness gene can come EQUALLY from mother or father. It is our tendency to analyze our fathers, grandfathers and uncles because male pattern baldness effects men to a significantly higher degree and does not show itself on women. However, analyzing the history of your mother's side is just as important. Remember, the gene could have only been passed by the women in your family and you were the one male who inherited the recessive gene. In this case there could be no outward signs of male pattern baldness in your family, but there are sings on you. I for one think this is very doubtful as the gene must have show itself on one of your uncles or male cousins.
Telling this guy that his dad may not be his dad is a total reach and sort of wacky.
