Does Minoxidil With Alcohol Make A Difference?

Hello everyone,

So I decided to purchase some minoxidil online, and I came across two distinct options. One was minoxidil with less alcohol added to the solution, and the other was a regular minoxidil solution. The variant with less alcohol was also less expensive. For now, I've bought the regular version, but I have a question about the other variant.
Does the alcohol content have any effect on how effective the product is? I've read that alcohol might help the product to penetrate the skin more easily.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, wether low alcohol minoxidil formulas were less efficient. Honestly I have no idea regarding that. I bought a 3 month supply of low alcohol QGAIN liquid minoxidil, so I'll give it a try and update later on.

Ah, I also bought 3 months of QGAIN minoxidil (on ebay), however to be on the safe side I went for the one with more alcohol. I'd be interested to hear how you react to it though, as I might switch if the results are similar :)

Sure man ... It's holidays over so mails are coming slow. I use liquid minoxidil on my entire beard region, at the moment I'm using Kirkland liquid minoxidil, aspiring for twice a day, but doesn't always pan out. My experience is it's quite god damn itchy, and I get flakes stuck to my face overall making it look like I have skin peeling or some sh*t like that. The worst thing is thst these flakes are stubborn and don't peel off easily even if I use a face wash and scrub them really good.
So just for fun I wanna experent with various minoxidil, so I bought the low alcohol one.

I also have some low PG minoxidil on the way from minoxidilmax, I'll try that as well.

For my actual hair I'm using Kirkland minoxidil foam (doesn't contain pg) as the liquid version irritated the hell out of my scalp and gave me unbearable itching. Seeing how my face looks and reacts to Kirkland liquid minoxidil makes a lot of sense as to why I had a dreadful experience using liquid minoxidil on my hair (not beard). Some how on my face - beard region the liquid minoxidil is much more tolerable than scalp, go figure. At least I'm seeing results, both on beard and and hair, thanks to minoxidil, so that's good.

I've been using kirkland minoxiddil foam as well, but it doesn't seem to give me the result I want even after 7 months of use. If anything there is around 5% of improvement in that span of time. I don't know if it is just me or what. But anyway, I think it is time to look into other options - like a wig or a hair transplant perhaps?

A hair transplant is always an option, too bad it is so expensive :(
