I've browsed around the web in regards to this topic for weeks.

Some people say it does, some disagree.

This site is inciteful some

http://www.baldingblog.com/2006/03/30/i ... ir-regrow/

It would be amazing if people posted their stories up.

Pictures would be great too!

If instance, if you quit smoking and your hair grew back or thickened up, please post your story.

It would be an inspiration to many!

That way, people would add quitting smoking to their regime...and we'd call it the Big 4!!!

I wouldn't put too much stock in smoking being a big reason for hairloss. It may slightly increase DHT, but stopping smoking won't stop hairloss.

It doesn't cause hairloss. There are millions of smokers with full heads of hair out there, including women. Baldness is in our genes... :sobbing:

I agree though that it's pointless and disturbing to the people around us and very harmful for health.

it can kill you but it can't make you bald.

But it can accelerate the balding process ,if you have the genes, it can make your MPG progress more rapidly, look at my post above.

Well I disagree with that, and there is no way to prove smoking's effect, negative or not to a balding person.

First of all, the causes of hairloss are not the levels of DHT or testosterone in your system. It's the level of your follicles sensitivity to these. If your follicles are very sensitive and are predisposed to stop growing terminal hairs quickly, it's gonna happen, smoking or not. Similar claims are these ridiculous ones about the effect of excercising and masturbation (!!!) simple because these activities raise testosterone.

There are many good reasons for someone to give up this bad habit, hairloss is not one of them imho. If smoking plays a role is very very minor.

peace :D

I am not agree with you that you can loss the hair due to smoking. It will injured the other orgasms but not a hair. I do not think so. It can kill you but not hair. I am also smoking but I am not having any problem yet.

Not really but can speed up the balding process for sure. Strange but my balding problem started few months later after i started to smoke cigs. Don't forget that cigs have can bad effect on you sex drive too. I guess if you take propecia there are bigger chances to get sides if you smoke.

Smoking will destroy every organ system in your body, like cassin said it makes absolutely no sense to do it. People dont have a clue how much damage it really does to them.

We arent here to debate whether smoking is good for you or not. We are specifically talking about whether it directly causes hair loss or not. The answer of course is no one has any idea, by my personal guess would be it makes little to no difference. male pattern baldness is 90 percent just genes, androgens, maybe immune system. Your fate with male pattern baldness is largely already set in stone so smoke or dont wont make any difference with your hair.

1000% smoking can contribute to hair loss for certain people. Smoking is bad for circulation and puts stress on your body. There are many variables that contribute to hair loss. Smoking can definitely be one of them, you should quit smoking for so many reasons more important than hair loss IMO.

My experience is that smoking does speed up the hair loss. Had seen some signs of a receding hairline before, but I just lost so much hair the year I lived together with 2 other smokers it's not even funny. We smoked pretty much constantly indoors. My other friend started balding quite a bit that year as well. It might be a coincidence, but after that year I've been quite wary of cigarettes and hairloss. Don't take my word for it tho.

Probably has nothing to do with hair loss. But everyone's body reacts differently to everything. It's possible a small minority people, some how and some way, expedite or increase their vulnerability to hair loss due to intoxicating their bodies with whatever chemicals are inside cigarettes.
