Does starting finasteride slowly not improve hair?

I and several other people on this forum have started finasteride at a low dose and moved up to the regular dose. I haven't seen any of those become a success story, but most of us report our hair being worse at the 1 year mark. Has anyone had success starting low and increasing?

0.25 Mg eod worked fr me .. but i droped finasteride due to sides..
