Does the itch ever stop?

I've been on finasteride for 5 months now and also take fish oil every day to help with inflamation, but I just cant get my scalp to stop itching. There are times in the day when it doesn't itch, but it always comes back, especially in the front. Is there anyone who continues to have a scalp itch problem even though being on meds?

Hi Chris

Sorry, i am in the same situation as you. I have had my itch almost a year and it hasnt gotten any better :( I have tried many diffrent shampoos without success. Now i am trying a topical steriod to see if that will make the itch go away.

I'll keep you updated

just taking finasteride orally for me stopped the itch. But the Am crew spray makes my scalp feel pretty cool and fresh too. My scalp has never been healthier. I get the odd ball days where my scalp feels like *** but not for days and days like I used to before finasteride. I hope this is a good sign!

same here... I had the itch 24/7 for a few months until I started finasteride/nizoral and tricomin once in a while. Now I only get it a couple of days a month.

Related question: Does anyone think the itch could be psychosomatic? Do you tend to get it more when you're anxious about stuff/hair?

My scalp became itchy, especially at the front, I really wanted to scratch my whole head off if I could, but with continued use of T/Gel + T/Sal + Nizoral it went away after three or four months never to return.

What tricomin product do you use?

I don't care for specialty shampoos, I think all they will do is make your hair feel/look 'nice'.

I use Tricomin spray only.

As far as shampoos, I go for nizoral, T/Sal (of course, these are the best), and Paul Mitchell's Shampoo One which is real good and gentle... I also use Healthy Hair Plus brand emu oil shampoo & conditioner, for added health and scalp moisturization. I like that regimen thus far.

Otherwise, Tricomin spray is a great addition to ANY regimen! Use daily. I use a medicine dropper and apply it all over even in non-thinning areas.
