Does the time of the day you take finasteride matter?

It seems the general consensus is that it doesn't matter, as long as it's at a consistent time every day.

I used to take it some time between 5 and 6 every day, but I recently started taking it just after I wake up (after I shower etc).

The side effects I had were reduced sensation and often my dinkle would feel like it was rubber. It wasn't dramatic and it was still pleasurable, but not like in the past.

However, since I started taking it in the morning I have noticed this is getting a lot better and my penis actually feels like it's attached again.

Any idea here?

That would make sense.

I have started taking it after I wake up - about 20 minutes after - and the side effects I was getting are quickly fading. I think it's because when I took it around 5pm then oestrogen was already taking it's toll, whereas during the day I am more active and eat stuff which helps get rid of it (not because of this, I generally eat healthily)

When I filled out my prescription the only thing they told me was to take it in the morning with food. I thought this was strange because of all the things to tell someone starting this drug I never thought time of day would be a big deal. But it must make some difference, otherwise the computers at CVS wouldn't have told the pharmacist to say this.

Well, after a week of taking it in the morning I have definitely noticed the one side effect I had - reduced sensation - is getting much better, almost back to normal just not quite there yet.

On another note, I had to get my driving licence renewed today so needed to get a photo... my hair looks so much better in it than it did on the photo I had for my work security pass :)

I started taking it in the morning, because I read somewhere that taking it with alcohol may limit its potency. I was previously taking it before I went to bed and figured that because I sometimes have a beer or two before bed, it would be better to take in the morning.

Yeah I doubt it makes a difference but morning is good time as any and I think T levels are higher in the morning but how much or if it makes difference who knows I guess.

depends on the individual really. i have shifted circadian rhythm insomnia and wake up at 2-4 pm. my T is probably higher at 4pm than someone who wakes up at 6 am daily. lol

I'm screwed with my sleep pattern. I work shifts. Although they're not dramatically different, they range from 8am - 4pm, to 1pm - 9pm, so there's often a 5 hour difference.

To be fair, it is screwing with me. One week I finish at 9pm on Friday, then back in at 8am on Monday, which means that Monday I am always dead to the world. It might as well be a write off.

I am sure shift work messes with people's health!
