Does weight lifting cancel out the affects of Finasteride?

So I'm 22 and have been thinning since 17 years old. Mianly on my sideburns and beside my eyes. Now at 22 I feel like I'm just diffuse thinning from the sides, and eventually on top. I say this because I've always had really thick black hair, and now it's just somewhat normal on top and really thin on the sides of my head. I also started working out at 16 and have heard that working out definitely speeds up the balding process, so I stopped at 19 and had been on and off. Now I've been on Finpecia for exactly one month, and I was wondering if working out would interfere with the effects of finasteride. I'd rather not work out and have propecia work to it's full extent to block more DHT then to have a few muscles. Any help?

This gets debated a lot. If lifting weights increases your testosterone then it probably increases your DHT and propecia does not stop all of DHT so then it would affect your hair I guess. Whether it changes enough to actually have any real affect who really knows probably not much if any.

The quantity of DHT in your body isn't the problem - male pattern baldness is determined by your genes.

Okay yeah but if your on these forums then your obviously losing hair so your hair is obviously sensitive to DHT to some extent. So with our general lack of understanding on receptors and DHT the best we can do right now is try to lower your total DHT levels like with propecia. Its all we have its not like you have 20 legit treatments to pick and choose from that work in a variety of different ways.

Yeah there's nothing more manly than not exercising. Who needs muscles? It's not like they are beneficial to us in any way. And with the time spent away from the gym, we can finally get around to painting our nails and picking out the "perfect" outfits for the week!! How fun!!

I'm so glad you've opened my eyes. Exercise is soo bad for you!! UGHH if only I would have known sooner!

I've been on finasteride for 6 years. In the middle of it I lost 30lbs and then put on 20lbs of muscle.
Propecia works just fine for me

A lot of people tend to temporarly use finasteride or dutasteride when they cycle on steroids to avoid losing hair during the cycle.

I am on finasteride and Rogaine.

What you see is day 1, day 90, and say 270 in my workout progress pics. I did p90x to lose the weight, then I did p90x and p90x+ to gain weight, as well as eating a LOT of good calories and proteins.

Thanks for answering. I keep hearing about this p90x program. I should check up on it if we got something like that here in DK. I'm not fat but gaining some muscles should always be good.
