Does Working Out And Weight Lifting Accelerate Hair Loss?

New year new goals, as a really skinny person myself I always wanted to get bigger and ripped.. I'm 6,1 but I weight 150 pounds so you get the picture.

Thing is I've noticed many muscular guys tend to have some hair loss, and then there's the correlation between testosterone and DHT, so I wondered: can working out and wieght lifting aggrevate my hair loss? Maybe it doesn't affect those people that don't have the male pattern baldness gene, but what about those who do?

I'd love to be muscular, I'm sure it would make me a lot more attractive, as friends who go to the gym and got buffed have told me from experience, they noticed they get more chicks and it makes it easier for them, but I'll be honest... I much rather have an okay hair, than to be buff and bald.

So what can you guys tell me from experience, or studies out there? Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad english.

Your English is fine. No problem understanding you.

The answer is NO. Working out doesn't cause hair loss.

Neither does masturbation.

I should know. If it did, I would be a NORWOOD 7 by now!

If you are prone to hair loss, working out will accelerate the process due to the increase in Testosterone which leads to more DHT conversion.

Same with sex and masturbation.

It won't. It's OK. Go ahead, masturbate.

Testosterone is what gives us our libido.

There's no evidence that working out causes hair loss.

I have low testosterone (tested) and I'm still thinning. There you go.

As mentioned above there's no evidence that working out causes hair loss, we're not really sure what causes hair loss exactly, except for DHT of course.

As you know, many muscular guys are on steroids and/or other supplements to enhance their "gains", there's a chance this could cause hair loss but again we don't know. In my opinion working out/frequent exercise won't accelerate hair loss at all, if anything I believe it could actually help slow down hair loss in some cases as working out can fix any hormonal imbalance you may have.

1. guys with more hair loss are much more likely to be lifters, same as a woman who isnt an 8 has to work on having a personality

2. Fix your hairloss problem and you wont need to gain a bunch of weight for no reason.

this post is retarded on so many levels.

Good looking people are more likely to be lifters, as they already have pride in there appearance, and want to look even better.

IF a women isn't an 8, needs to work on having a personality?

Everyone has a personality.

Having sh*t genes is what causes hair loss

hope this helps.

And start hitting the gym ASAP. When you see your body change you ask yourself why you didn't start earlier.
