Doing The Opposite..adding Finasteride To Dutasteride

I have read several stories of people being on Finasteride then adding dutasteride, but has anyone done the opposite. In one week I will have been on dutasteride .5 daily for a year. I have not seen any results or a slow down in shedding. I have been on rogaine foam for 7 years. If I were to add Finasteride what would be the best way of doing that? Should I do every other day and on the days I take Finasteride skip dutasteride? I didn't get sides from dutasteride, but in the past I have from Finasteride.

It doesnt make sense. First wait at least 6 months to see some improvement. Than maybe you can add another pill of duta.

Adding finasteride to dutasteride is pointless and a waste of precious money you could be spending on other treatments

It's not pointless, potentially. Let me explain, it's actually nothing to do with DHT inhibition since dutasteride does everything better. I read a pharmacology report once that we have isoenzymes of 5 alpha 2 reductase, some that are targeted only by finasteride, some by dutasteride and loads by both. So potentially adding finasteride, you put out a bigger net, whether that translates to cosmetic gain or better maintenance, no idea, but worth a try.
Interesting, thanks for the insight!

Finasteride would give you no benefit at this point, your DHT levels should already be beyond Finasteride's therapeutic threshold. You may consider increasing your Dutasteride dose as it has been shown to be dose dependent unlike Finasteride. Some other things to consider, have you had lab work to see if DHT has been suppressed, and are you on a prescription for Dutasteride? I sometimes question the efficacy of online pharmacy drugs, especially the foreign generics.

I didn't have my levels tested so I don't have a baseline to compare.I have been on prescription dutasteride from CVS since day one. Ive read some people have success at 15 month mark. I saw a post a while back and a guy gave his timeline and didn't see any results until 15 months and continued improvement until about 2 years.
