So I have been E-Mailing Dr. A's assistant or w/e back and fourth for about a week now, and he tells me that it will be in estimated 2,000 graphs at about $8,200...and that he can hold on to a surgery date for me...I am somewhat confused that it was this easy to do..I mean i am thankfull because i will only have to fly out there once now and that will just be for the sugery...He said it will be this many graphs because they specialize in high dence transplants...Ne way here are my picps..tell me what you guys think..

Don't do it. If he hasn't seen you and understood your genetic profile, that pretend doctor is a con-man, like thousands of similar doctors who just want to make money from hairloss misery. Hair transplants are very hit and miss. Flying off into the unknown is tempting, because "the grass is always greener". There are good guys here who will guide you with patient wisdom.

You don't need surgery.

You should be careful of anyone who recommends a course of action without seeing you in person.

Have you tried Finasteride or Minoxidil yet? Your hair definitly has a good chance of ATLEAST maintaining by using both. Give those treatments a try first in my opinion...in 6 months you will be happy you didnt jump the gun with the hair transplant

I was in the same boat as you, propecia has kept my hairline for years so i decided to fill in. I used Armani as well because his work is VERY good, IMO the best for hairlines.

Do you not understand that you're dealing with a common salesman who wishes to sell you his product? Being that you're in a desperate mindframe, you're entirely vulnerable.

Good grief. What if I say you need 20,000 grafts for $100,000? In your state of mind, if you had the money - you'd hand it over in a wink. That's the kind of decision they count on - and the kind you should seek to avoid.

Take the emotion out of your decisions at all costs.

I totally agree and remember what hairwegoagain said about the absence of a physical examination.

He may very well be. I don't know him nor do I know anyone who knows him, so I for one don't know this...but that's not the point anyway. What I AM stating is that his "assistant" is a salesman, no different than any other. He's gunning for the "yes." A salesman's job is to move product, whether it's cars, lightbulbs, or hair transplants. The OP needs to understand this.

Does that hairline really look like it needs 2000 grafts..I have seen many hair transplant pics and 2000 fills up a lot more than that. If I had a hairline like that..I would not even consider hair transplant.

Most of these so called "doctors" do not go over shockloss with you. You are a candidate for disaster. I looked just like that 3 years ago. IMHO hair transplants are great "if" you are at least a solid (strong back and sides) over 40 and don't expect much more than 40% coverage in the effected area and are willing to do the minoxidil propecia thing for life. 90% of hair transplant doctors would cut you up without hesitation. $Early hairloss is when you are most vulnerable to the horror that lies ahead if you do surgery.

These are sage words. When I first realized I was losing hair, I went to the dermatologist who just happened to be aligned with a well-known (in the Texas area) hair transplant surgeon. Luckily, this surgeon looked at me and told me I shouldn't even consider going under the knife. There was no way to know how my male pattern baldness would progress, so it would be foolish. He was correct, and I still appreciate his words.

I am not totally against hair transplants. They are appropriate in some cases. I'm most concerned about young men (20s, early 30s) just starting to lose hair opting for surgery. It's a lose-lose situation. If you think you look like a boob now, just give it some time after getting early hair transplant surgery. Unfortunately, you could be destined for permanent boobery if you go that route.
