Dr. Proctor vs. Dr. Lee: Who's Right?

Hey guys,

I wanted to know what you thought about this:

In Proxiphen, Dr. Proctor combines minoxidil with spironolactone (among other ingredients) in his topical concoction. On the other hand, Dr. Lee won't make a topical combining both minoxidil and spironolactone because he mentions somewhere on his website that the two react with each other in solution, rendering them ineffective. However, Dr. Lee says it is ok to apply minoxidil and spironolactone right after each other because it is only when they are packaged together (and exposed to each other for a long period of time within the bottle) that the chemical reaction occurs.

So my question is, who is right?

Thanks.

Dr. Proctor claims to have found ways to stabilize the mixture, so I take him at his word.

Forgive me Bryan, but for a guy who is such a stickler for studies, it seems odd that you would take someone on his word.

JWM,
It is probably his secret and doesn't want to share the information.

I will go even to the extent of challenging anyone to prove proctor wrong by analyzing or testing his product.

I second this, Proctor is a straight shooting guy who seems to know his sh*t

What's fascinating is that a few years ago on alt.baldspot, Dr. proctor even talked about taking out a PATENT on his special method for stabilizing spironolactone! Don't know if he ever actually did that, though.

Well, notice that I did qualify my statement a bit by saying that he CLAIMS to have found a way to stabilize spironolactone!

Because I personally have used his products over the years and have direct evidence that they work in the form of before-and-after photographs, I feel it's only reasonable and practical to grant him a certain amount of credibility in the other claims he makes. Who's to say that he hasn't really found some particularly potent combination of antioxidants (or whatever) that's really well-suited to keep spironolactone from reacting with minoxidil??

I really like Dr. P's Nano shampoo, but am I the only one that views him as an evasive arrogant grump at times? If you have had much dealings with him you probably know what I mean.

Maybe "grump' is too severe a descriptor. Perhaps aloof would be more appropriate.
