Dreadlocks

Just curious, what would happen if someone with dreadlocks started to go bald? I mean, the entire dread lock cants just fall out, all in one. What do you guys think?

Funny you should say that I know a white guy with Dreads right down his back like 4' long. His hair has'nt been cut or combed in over a decade all the hair is simply matted together so even if its shedded its still attached.
I believe that if it was all cut off its possible that he could have visible hairloss underneath.
