Damn, I'm on finasteride and have noticed some slight regression from Norwood 1.5 to 2 over the 11 months I've been taking it so it clearly doesn't stop hair loss.

Maybe your more sensitive than DHT than some people. I mostly have diffuse thinning though so I'll probably go straight from NW2 to NW7 I'm guessing which sucks.

Are you guys taking anything else like minoxidil or keto? Also, I suppose you could try dutasteride if you want to risk your health even more.

You guys wouldn't happen to have pics would you? I do believe that finasteride can cause a shed, but dropping 1.5NW within 7 months is pretty hard core.

I am not a doctor by no means, so take my words as an opinion please. I took finasteride in the past for 50 days or so. I lost so much ground during those times, from a Norwood 1 to Norwood 2 or worse. My hairline got destroyed and I had barely any hairs left on my forehead, which made me depressed. Depression led to more hair loss, and it was an ultimate nightmare, a never ending cycle. I was losing about 20-30 hairs/day before I started taking finasteride, and that easily doubled after I started taking finasteride. Of course, 50 days may not be enough time to gauge if finasteride would be beneficial or not, but I've seen numerous online testimonials saying that finasteride shedding never stopped for one year, two years, and even three years. I am not fully suggesting you to drop finasteride right away, but it would be your best interest to talk to a doctor about it.

Lol, how can so much bull**** be in one thread alone??

Dht causes hairloss -- More exactly testosterone converts to DHT and the DHT causes hairloss..

Finasteride STOPS good amount of testosterone from converting into DHT, leaving LESS DHT in your blood to **** up ur hair..

Its a simple math

No finasteride = Lots of DHT = Lots of hairloss
finasteride = low DHT = Little hairloss..

There is no way finasteride is causing ur hairloss.. It could be that ur hairloss is very aggressive and not even finasteride is being able to do much agaisnt it.. There are many compeltely bald men out there who have tried finasteride and all the products available, some hairloss cases are just too aggressive for any meds to do anything :/
