Dutasteride and "telogen effluvium"...

Hi everyone,
I open this topic because I've noticed a common phenomenon even in this site...
Some Duta's users after a first period says that their hair became extremely dry and also the skin, the shedding increase and the hair appears very thin...
It seems a "telogen effluvium" (view google), a diffuse thinning even in the zone none androgen-dipendent.
Is it a sign that the body react badly at this drug? Or is it a normal transition?
The guys who have great results with Duta never experienced this syntoms...Is it?
I don't know if is a "normal" effect that go away with the time or is a sign that your body don't tolerate the drug...
Are you experienced this syntoms in the first stages of therapy?

Everyone reacts to the drug differently, and it's hard to explain the reason behind it cuz we are not that advance in science yet.

Can minoxidil make a telogen effluvium??

i have stop dutasteride

finasteride and minoxidil today

when i take minoxidil on it my Hair get dry-thin- Yellowisher faster as bevor with dutasteride

all here have minoxidil in the Regime
is that the Negativ thing in ouer Regime and Not dutasteride??

when i stop minoxidil for 10-15 Days my Hair get better and better Much healthier
2Days minoxidil and my Hair deadly and straw As a shock for the Hairs

Or strengthens minoxidil the bad work from dutasteride?(telogen effluvium)
And too much dutasteride active ingredient in Blutt?

Limitations of human occipital scalp hair follicle organ culture for studying the effects of minoxidil as a hair growth enhancer.

Minoxidil induces new hair growth in approximately one-third of patients with androgenetic alopecia after 1 year of treatment. With several conflicting reports in the literature based on small-scale studies, the current study aimed to clarify whether organ culture of human scalp anagen VI hair follicles is a suitable in vitro test system for reproducing, and experimentally dissecting, the recognized in vivo hair-growth-promoting capacity of minoxidil. Hair shaft elongation was studied in terminal anagen VI hair follicles microdissected from the occipital scalp of 36 healthy adults. A total of 2300 hair follicles, approximately 65 per individual, were tested using modifications of a basic organ culture protocol. It is shown here that minoxidil does not significantly increase hair shaft elongation or the duration of anagen VI in ex vivo culture despite several enhancements on the conventional methodology. This disparity to what is seen clinically in minoxidil responders may be explained by the following: (i) use of occipital (rather than frontotemporal or vertex) hair follicles; (ii) use of, already maximally growing, anagen VI hair follicles; (iii) a predominance of hair follicles from minoxidil unresponsive-donors; (iv) use of minoxidil rather than its sulfate metabolite; and/or (v) use of a suboptimal minoxidil dosage. This disparity questions the usefulness of standard human hair follicle organ culture in minoxidil research. Unexpectedly, minoxidil even inhibited hair shaft elongation in the absence of insulin, which may indicate that the actual hair-growth-modulatory effects of minoxidil depend on the concomitant local presence/absence of other growth modulators.

Testosterone increased 4.4% for Finasteride, 6.4% for 0.05mg Dutasteride, 16% for 0.1mg Dutasteride, and 27% for 0.5mg and 2.5mg Dutasteride. Although the rise in Testosterone may seem high, the Testosterone levels were almost always within normal range according to Rittmaster.

Scalp DHT measurements were also assessed for both DHT and Testosterone. Scalp DHT was decreased 27% for 0.05mg Dutasteride, similarly for Finasteride (38%) and Dutasteride 0.1mg (37%), 54% for 0.5mg, and 82% for 2.5mg Dutasteride. Rittmaster concluded that these results show that most of the DHT in the scalp comes from type 1 5-alpha reductase.

Scalp Testosterone rose 24% for Finasteride, 46% for 0.05mg Dutasteride, 44% for 0.1mg Dutasteride, 104% for 0.5mg Dutasteride, and 154% for 2.5mg Dutasteride

Timi, where do these testosterone % numbers you have come from...

What is being said is that dutasteride raises testosterone 100% compared to 25% for finasteride on the std 0.5mg, 1mg respective doses if i'm reading it right

Certainly my libido is off the scale with dutasteride and hairloss is very fast..sure it was much slower with finasteride which is why I have gone back to finasteride so this would fit with the dutasteride creatin a lot more testo maybe.

It may be that raising testo for some of us causes loss anyway despite the acutal DHT reduction...gotta be some explanation why works for some and not others

Hairloss was more aggressive on dutasteride. Gave it 7-8 months and no sign it was just a shed or any recovery so back on finasteride now even tho I still lost on that but less so..lets see what happens.... I think in the end I will have to buzz because I can no longer style what is left.

20Days my Hair better and better Day for Day than finasteride the Hairs goes bad

i think after dutasteride 4-6weeks Stop finasteride better
than with a little Dose beginning

is it the Estrogen or Testosteron
i don't know it

the Body must go to the Basic Line
