Dutasteride ----> Finasteride? (no Side Effects)

Hey everyone,

I'm 21 and have had slow diffuse hair loss on the top of my scalp since about 16.
I started taking finasteride at 20 and tried it for 6 months, at the start I believe it started to help but then didn't work as well and was still loosing hair. Whilst on finasteride the only side effect i ever had was a small ball ache from time to time.

Due to the very small sides I quickly tried to take the plunge onto dutasteride.. Similar story, I tried it for 5 months (5 month just ended) at the start I believe it started to help but then didn't work as well and was still loosing hair. Whilst on dutasteride the only side effect i ever had was a small ball ache from time to time.

Not sure what to do now? Do I revert back to finasteride and see if that'll help me again? Is there a chance dutasteride dosen't work on me but finasteride does (even though dutasteride much stronger than finasteride)?

Additional notes about me:

Using Nizoral for over a year (not sure if works helps with very itchy scalp)
I have an itchy scalp, when I scratch the top of my head I often get white stuff under my nails
Started minoxidil 2 weeks ago..
Extremely hairy (back hair and quite a bit of body hair)

is ur hair oily?
i am in ur position i have an oily scalp that even after using nizoral it takes 4hr to start getting greaser as for the white flacks its dandruff considring u had it befor starting minoxidil in my situation daily showering my hair and avoiding wereing hats helped also there is a lotion called dermsalic helped with the dandruff

I don't think its dandruff as its not white stuff on the top of my hair.. Its like dead skin im scraping on the top of my head that gets underneath my fingernails..

I get that from nizoral actually. Stuff dries out my scalp big time.

Hi,

Can anyone suggest anything else? Been on dutasteride 5 months now still shedding, top of head is getting worse. How long compared to finasteride does dutasteride take to work?
