dutasteride in Canada?

Hi all,
Posted this in the anti androgens forum but didn't get enough responses.

I want to add dutasteride to my regimen, start off once a week (finasteride for the rest of the week). However, it is freaking impossible to get dutasteride in Canada, since its prescription only. I saw 3 derms, and my GP (family doctor) who prescribed me finasteride refused to prescribe me dutasteride as I am only 20. Does anyone know where I can buy it online or where I can possible get a prescription?

Cheers
Dave

That's the thing its not approved as a treatment for hair loss so doctors won't normally give you a prescription for it. I had the same issue Saskatchewan, but after bringing in a few documents and asking my Doctor to research dutasteride he ended up giving me a prescription. I even said I'd sign a legal document stating I was aware that I was taking it off label and that my doctor wasn't at fault for anything that could possibly be caused by it. As it's still unknown what the long term effects for inhibiting the other form of DHT may do. He never did make me sign any documents, but it showed that I wanted to give dutasteride a shot.

Not sure if you'd be willing to go to those lengths but it may be worth a shot. I was never able to find a way to get dutasteride in Canada from online so, that's all I can really say. Wish you the best.

Jeez that is such a pain. My Doctor said theres no way he'll give me that. I'll try contacting some hair transplant doctors and i'll ask to pay just for the prescription.
Thanks for your reply

Dave, try some walk in clinics. I know a lot of them will give you finasteride prescriptions but I haven't tried dutasteride. You might have better luck.

I've called every godamn hair clinic/derm in Montreal. Nobody wants to prescribe dutasteride. NOBODY. Derms don't even know what it is for christ sake.

I hate the Canadian healthcare system

I did a quick search and found this:

https://www.canadadrugs.com/products/avodart/0-5mg

I haven't tried this site but I've looked at it in the past for finasteride. They're expensive though. $139 for 30 pills. I hate buying pills in canada too. I just bought 3 months of propecia for $200. Makes me sick.
