make sure you take pics bro and good luck to you

but to be 22 and only nw2.25 means you dont have extremely aggressive hairloss so dutasteride will most likely help you

Dutasteride is not effective than finasteride for preventing further hair loss or hair growth..Only 2,5 mg dutasteride/day works faster than finasteride at 12 and 24 weeks.

This drug is very very dangerous and it's not approved by FDA or MHRA for male pattern baldness. This drug can cause male interfertility and sexual function disorders.

And for a lot of patients, it's not effective than finasteride for preventing hair loss. And for some pateints finasteride works better than dutasteride. Because 5 alpha reductase activity and genotype changes person to person. I know a lot of people..They use dutasteride with zero results and they change it with finasteride and they see dramatic results.

Dutasteride is too risky and not effective than finasteride.

Dutasteride is more effective than Finasteride, approximately 30% more effective at treating male pattern baldness and BPH. Yes, taking 2.5 mg of Dutasteride is more effective than Finasteride, I've read a study about that.

The drug is not dangerous, it's not a controlled substance. It can cause side effects, just like any medication. However, if side effects do occur, you can simply quit the medication and they'll subside. Like any medication, handle with care.

Not everyone will respond the same way to treatment. Dutasteride is stronger than Finasteride. I've never found anything about people getting no results on Dutasteride but did on Finasteride.

Dutasteride is not too risky and is more effective than Finasteride.

No, no, no..

Don't talk about GlaxoSmithKline's studies..

Dutasteride is not more effective than finasteride. And dutasteride is not approved for male pattern baldness by FDA or MHRA.

DUTASTERİDE İS NOT APPROVED FOR MALE PATTERN BALDNESS BY FDA or MHRA...

It causes sexual dysfunction and male interfertility.. I can give you a lot of study links about dutasteride side effects.

Do you want ?

IMO 17 with dutasteride is kind of pushing it man.But i must say you have a really good widows peak.
BTW can you tell me if you can grow a beard or some facial hair while on dutasteride.finasteride is my primary offense but i doubt sometimes if its gonna work good.Considering to add dutasteride 0.5mg once a week with finasteride but if it halts my beard then its a let downer.Besides i have low body hair and my enitre family sports a NW2 with some goatee and a trimmed moustache.Losing my ability to get some bush on my face would be really awkward.Best of luck And a happy new year

False.

86% maintain/regrow on finasteride for 10 years, though there is no comparative study of Dutasteride given for 10 years for male pattern baldness, we can assume it is at least 10% more effective than finasteride.

Again, the emphasis is on the fact that finasteride will be good enough for almost 9/10 people long term and it's approved without touching type 1 DHT.

Yeah I grow lots of facial hair and honestly see no difference after starting treatments except for a little more in the jaw/neck tegion

Got to be honest. dutasteride appears not to be helping me. I was on finasteride for 1 year and 3 months (with no results) and decided to give dutasteride a try. I've been on dutasteride for about 6 and a half months now with no progress. I was only looking for maintenance, but my hairline is getting worse and worse. I guess i'm a non-responder to both drugs unfortunately.

I have responded excellent to Ketoconazole, Minoxidil, and LLLT. I'm looking forward to the same with Dutasteride.

I hope Dutasteride works for you hairyhenry. :D

I am currently 25. I started finasteride when I was 18, but got too lazy when I didn't see results quick enough. I started finasteride again when I was 24 and tested it out for over a year. Been on dutasteride since July. I have yet to see any slowdown in my hair loss. It was very gradual in the beginning, but now its speeding up.

Doesn't look too bad? And your hair seems very thick. Did you experience any thinning over the years? Or maybe finasteride/dutasteride helped thickening?

Could very well be that you're just progressing to a natural adult hairline. I mean, it does seem a quite natural hairline for someone who's not going bald. dutasteride should stop the balding process in almost any individual, so you might have to give it some more time. Don't forget, many freak out with the use of propecia, claiming it makes it worse, that it doesn't do anything, etc. but over a timeline of 5 years almost 90% of users have successfully halted hair loss.

I'm on finasteride for 14 months now and I believe I'm still below baseline, yet I know I should give it some more time. There's plenty of users on this board who claim that they only saw a reduction in shedding or regrowth in month 18 or so.

1. 6 weeks - 4 months usually
2. If you get regrowth, there are no early signs that are indicators
3. dutasteride should stop hairloss in almost everyone or everyone
4. Very effective
5. Pretty much a cure for most people, probably

if it stops hairloss fore veryone why dont people get on it instead of finasteride? I know its probably stronger/stronger sides but if its more effective and you dont get sides, why not?

finasteride stops hairloss in 85-90% of people as well. There are plenty of reasons why people think it is better to use finasteride instead

Man, I wish. My hair has been thinning at the corner of the hairline this past year. I know with 100% certainty that I have male pattern baldness. I've been losing short miniaturized hairs for years, and I'm beginning to see the outline of a NW3. I am by no means claiming that either drugs made my hair worse. They just haven't been working for me (as far as I know). I've now been on hairloss treatments for around 20 months. I'm going to give dutasteride a full year and if I haven't begun to maintain I might just jump back onto finasteride or start using dutasteride EOD instead of ED. Although its doing nothing for the front of my hair, it might be working in the mid section/crown. I just need some kind of maintenance so I can get a hair transplant in the front when its further gone.

Man make a thread in the tell your story section and post pictures to show your progress or regress. Its very important that the poeple who claim that drugs dont work for them make threads so that others who feel that the drugs are not working for them can look at others.

Any updates ?

How is your hair now, did you maintain? What did dutasteride do for you? Did you change anything about your regimen?
