I know, I know...I can research the site and get all the info I want on any topic here....but it's not so easy. I'm trying to get a rundown on dutasteride...what is is, what it does, where to get it, what info to go to my Doctor with because he is clueless about it, etc...

I've researched it here, and I get all kinds of articles in random order and relevancy dating back from 2002.....I have no idea if this info is outdated or what, and it seems like so many of you guys like writing long text to others on here that either don't listen, or are just basic a$$holes, that you wouldn't mind helping a brother out that has a paper and pad ready, waiting on your every word.

Thx,
cdf

Dutasteride is chill because it helps with hair loss without the side effects of Propecia...for example, my dick still works just fine.

I am starting Finasteride in addition to Dutasteride because I have been using it for several months and it seems to only help in thickening existing hairs, whereas Finasteride helps grow new hairs.

please disregard the above post as it is a load of crap.

in short dutasteride is quite similar to finasteride, except that it inhibits both type1 and type2 5ar2. it also inhibits type 2 a lot more effectively ie/ 98% effectively. the incidence of sexual side effects in those using dutasteride was found to be around 5%. it had a higher effectiveness than finasteride at retaining and regrowing hair, though i do not have the numbers at hand at the moment.

more specific questions would probably get you better answers. have you tried google?

What's wrong with you people....... I ask for some info and I get a few retards posting unusual pictures, emoticons, and telling me about their penis. I really don't need any info on anyone else's penis, thanks.

I basically am a little nervous, and unaware of how, how much, and where to go with my introduction to trying dutasteride. I've been using Propecia for 2 years, and it's losing effectiveness (or the hair loss has somehow become extremely aggressive over the past month or so). My job and lifestyle do not afford me the time, or time around a computer to search and analyze this topic at any valid length to become educated, so I rely on the forum itself to supply me with the info....sorry to place burden.

What do I need to do to physiologically start/prepare the transition?

Where do I go to get dutasteride (elitenetpharmacy, United, etc.)?

Is there a loading phase or initial dosage schedule?

What is the normal dosage, and should it ever change over time?

Do I continue to take Propecia?

What is the cost of the average month's supply of dutasteride?

I sincerely appreciate those that have the time and patience to help me out.

ok now we have some specific questions to work with.

What do I need to do to physiologically start/prepare the transition?

nothing, just start taking the drug

Where do I go to get dutasteride (elitenetpharmacy, United, etc.)?

i got it from qhi.co.uk because i wanted genuine brand name avodart

Is there a loading phase or initial dosage schedule?

some suggest an initial loading dose schedule of 1.5 mg over 10 days. if you are going on the .5 mg a day dose. or you could simply start taking .5mg though it will take a little while to build up to levels high enough to block 98% of 5ar2

What is the normal dosage, and should it ever change over time?

.5mg daily is what most people take. changing the dosage would depend on your results and/or side effects.

Do I continue to take Propecia?

no
