seriously! Made my hair look MUCH thicker or maybe the finasteride and nizoral kicked in right before I added dye :)

Many white people who are thinning on top usually dye their hair blond so there isn't any major contrast between their scalp and hair. I have read that dyeing isn't very good for your hair. Weather this is true or not I don't know?

Yea. I've heard that dying your hair can do some serious damage to it. Also, at least I've noticed that when I dye my hair, it doesn't look natural. I've yet to see natural hair that is consistently the same color. Most folks have some lighter and some darker hairs but not all the same darnkess. I think that's why dyed hair looks "fake". IMO.

wangho, I agree with you. When I visit my barber, I ask her to dye my hair black. The hair looks good for a week. But with so much xandrox and shampoo, the hair color is lost in a week. (even within few days).

Do you dye your hair yourself? What product do you use? where do you buy it?

I dunno about dying your hair black. Before my regimen kicked in, the contrast between my thinning black hair against my pale scalp only seemed to enhance how much I was losing.

I used Loreal 'Paris' Superior Preference (light brown ash). Bought it from Kroger. Seriously though, out of the shower when I comb my hair back I usually see bare scalp on the very back, but not after the dye.

This was an experiment as Im not sure I want to keep doing it as I have head that it can damage the hair. As with many things when it comes to hair, I just dunno.

Here is link to all natural Henna hair dye. It is supposedly the safest there is.

I use just for men (supposedly only for grey hair but hey!).

It works great for me. My hair on top is really thin and blonde whereas the side hair is thick and dark blonde. By using dark hair dye the contrast between the two is less and it actually thickens my hair.....love it!

Been using Mens Choice for 15 years every 2-4 weeks. No issues...love how my hair looks for a week after....nice and thick! Like a mini-hair transplant. Add Couvre and looks great!

I didnt even use half the mixture though and just like the directions said, the half I tried to save actually blew up and regurgitated out of the bottle. Is Men's Choice different in that I can save the rest of the mixture for later?

the idea is that the dye colors those thin and less pigmented hairs all over your scalp. The hair is already darker on the sides and back when thinning adn the top is lighter. With dye, you'd get a complete uniform hair color.
