Ok erm, not sure why I said all that! They do look ominous though! They're so damn tiny and yet just one QUARTER of one probably packs more 5ar-blocking punch than one of these HUGE beta-sitosterol capsules!!

I'm scared O.O

Oh, even though I've been taking beta-sitosterol and Saw Palmetto for a little bit, maybe I should get my sperm count and stuff checked BEFORE I take finasteride - would be good to have a gauge...

I mean I'm going to start on 0.25 anyway so I'm sure side effects will be non-existent or minimal, but still!

I very much doubt 0.25 will hit me too hard, I know people say all the doses are the same and I think it's true to SOME extent, but it does seem people get fewer sides and less impact the lower their dose is, from what I've heard.

Thing is, taking a lower dose also gives me room to address some other problems that might be making my hair loss worse, such as hormonal imbalance (stress, lack of exercise, poor diet). I'm correcting all these now and trying to get my hormones at healthy levels. Fingers crossed I won't even need a high dose of finasteride if I can do that

(it really depends how much of this is genetic and how much is hormonal - the balance differs case-to-case IMO)

Good luck! I was going to say to get a blood test done...but since you have already popped a pill (just noticed the edit) not much use now. Keep us updated please, since you seem like you will stick around.

I just started my finpecia yesterday and am taking the full 1mg . I seem to be getting some sides but i am hoping just like the topical finasteride that i will get over it and be ok. If not i'll cut them in half and see how that goes.

Hows the finasteride going for you so far? Hopefully without the side? As some notice sides as early as first day.

I actually stopped after that FIRST 0.25mg lol, as that's when I came up with my huge insulin-related theory... thing!

I'm not sure what my plan is now O.O

Balance my diet, exercise, go on immortalhair's regimen, take mild finasteride, use nizoral, take flax seeds, take vits. I think that's it. Oh, and apply topical onion/sulphur soap and aloe vera! Those are the two I like the most so far! Onion obviously smells a bit yuck but I really think it might work!

Anyway, this means coming at it from so many angles so I'm pretty confident I will see improvement!

So you've give up taking the finasteride??? After 1 dose? lol, i've avoid finasteride for 6 months and I figured if even you could try it, I'd give it a shot too. So I started on 0.25mg yesterday. As if you quit already!

It's not that I'm scared of it, not at all, I'm just pretty convinced there are ways of tackling the problem more at it's source.

erm, I'm ok, to be honest it's always hard to tell if sides are in your head!

It's still a toss up between finasteride and beta-sitosterol... the IH regimen does sound truly epic from the conversations we've had in the forums (over there) about it so I might just base my regimen around that

lol my finpecia arrived a week ago or something and i went through the same exact thing, i was going to trash the finpecia, but i thought of giving it a try. im taking 0.5 mg sometimes when i cut it and one part is bigger than the other one i usually throw the other one away, it's cheap so w/e. cut it into half for a start. somethings better than nothing aye?

Guess so freak, I'm only on 0.25 so far...taking it slow. I've been using topical finasteride for 3 months, seems to be working but Im sure the stuff is going systematical, as I got ball ache now and again since starting it, and the oral finasteride has brought it back much more frequently tho.... Other than that...seems fine so far. Will up dosage in 3 days...
