david90210,
I can't relate to those who say that minoxidil leaves irritates their scalp, or is "inconvenient" to apply. Don't think that you have to follow any rules in applying it. Sometimes I apply it 2x a day for weeks, but there are some days that I miss it completely. No, it's not good or recommended to miss it, but the more that you can apply it 2x per day as recommended, the better. However, rule of thumb is that youd should apply it at least 4 hours before you take a (second) shower, and then apply it again, to meet the 2 times per day mark. But your post about waiting 8 hours or whatever doesn't make sense, according to this rule of thumb. No, it's not fun to apply. It takes me about 7-10 minutes each time. And at night when I'm tired it isn't easy. But I try to do it anyway.
Honestly, I use about 3ml each time, all over my scalp, instead of the recommended 1ml. I do this because my dad is a Norwood 4-5, at age 52, but I figure if this stuff keeps follicles in the growth stage, why not make my scalp thicker by doing it all around. And I think my dad thinned out like I would be, diffusely, all around. So I spread the minoxidil all over my top scalp. I don't want to just do it in the front, and one day realize that my vertex is bald, you know?
Hinde,
Does nizoral burn your scalp? If not, might I recommend using TGel or nizoral every other day, or every day? Some people say this works. Propecia did dry up my scalp when I didn't use nizoral or minoxidil or wash my hair as rigorously as I do now. But it didn't irritate my scalp that much, either. PM me about this. Maybe Folligen is your best bet. I hear that helps. Bombscience also experienced irritation. He can probably help, too.
But I think it is important to get the irritation under control as well.
Later.
