college is right, this whole thing might be a scam, just to get us to buy their stocks, so they can take all the money from us. this cell multiplication thing may not even be true. for more reference to these kind of drug company scams, watch Spike Lee's She Hate Me

Guys, please don't put all of your mental eggs into the "HM is coming out" basket. It very well may not debut at all. If it does, years from now, consider it at that time....but not until then! You're wasting time!

Instead, accept your condition as it stands today - with the knowledge that you're doing everything you can to maintain/improve it. Be at peace. Set that mindset in concrete. THEN, go out and live your lives in all respects. You can do it. You're not leppers. You simply can't sit around grasping at straws like this. You will piss away the best years of your lives...gone forever...and I mean FOREVER! You are putting your lives on hold until "a better tomorrow" that has great odds of not culminating! So, you have to redefine "better" in your minds and get on with things.

Take it from me...you can be very successful in life - with girls, careers, friends, etc....with male pattern baldness. Get going and stop this BS before you really have something to regret, i.e., a completely wasted youth. A lot of you are already well into it. When you're 35, 40, 50, 60, 80 years old - you'll regret the choices you're making right now...so change them NOW and LIVE.

If it was practical, I'd slap the living sh*t out of all of you (in a caring, brotherly way of course) to snap you out of this mindset.

Summary:

1) Stop banking your mental health and LIFE on something that doesn't yet exist, and may never exist
2) STOP GRASPING AT STRAWS (includes #1)
3) Recognize that you may very well be completely bald someday. Hopefully you won't, but live your life without regard to your f*****g hair! It may in fact leave you for good!
3) Get the F out there and LIVE your LIVES

Bingo! You don't NEED it. You act as if it's a foregone conclusion that this will even be available to you. You don't even know what "it" is yet! The info you've got is from some 3-line emails a bunch of desperate guys are soliciting from a couple tiny startup companies. It may be a big bag of nothin'! So what are you gonna do? Sit there like a welfare mama feeling sorry for yourself for what could be years, decades, or NEVER? Now THAT is a loser move.

hwgg just snapped me out of my shroud, nobody owes me my flock. even if you get back your hair in the end, you'll find you won't have your youth. then you'll put all your eggs in Youth Multiplication.... next thing you know you're dead or senile in a old folks home.

I spent about a dillusional year using unproven stuff staying away from finasteride in the hope that HM was just around the corner - but it seems the next breakthrough is always just around the corner.

There are days when I genuinely beleive that the 2008-2010 timeframe that gets discussed might actually be true and if it comes true - well i'll be dancing in the streets with the rest of my male pattern baldness brethren - but it could just as easily suffer any number of delays or problems which takes it to 2015, 2020 or it may be never and by that time science will be touting yet another potential cure.

I am optimistic about HM but now reality has kicked in - Ive been on a solid regimen with finasteride as the backbone for 10 months and i feel if anything it will give me 5 years of decent hair (if im lucky) beyond that well hopefully my gym visits will be paying off and i will suit the buzzed/bald look better- you have to have a plan of some kind because for me and I guess lots of others - just accepting that norwood 7 look is just not an option.

Friend, we all understand your feelings. However, whether you accept in your own mind the NW7 or not, the outcome is not changed. I sincerely hope that something comes around that solves this for all of us - but you can't spend your days grasping at every "maybe" on the horizon, with the notion that you'll start living your life once it comes to fruition.

I'm glad you're doing things to improve yourself. You're doing all you can, with the tools we have today, to maintain your hair. More importantly, you're making improvements in your general health. Leave it at that. IF something better arrives, try it then...but don't hinge your entire being on this Earth waiting, hoping, and moping for something that is uncertain at best.

It's advanced. Pictures are on the stories forum. Guess I should update those pretty soon. I have a pretty large barely-populated crown loss area. MUCH "worse" than what most guys have on here.

Well, a bit of progress on the front...but nothing drastic. The front never went full-tilt boogy like the back. I definitely receded and thinned a ton up front, but didn't have slick areas. I'd say I have about 1/2 the hair I used to.

I started losing hair around 18ish. I remember reading a textbook in highschool and hair showering down like confetti. It became noticeable around 20/21...so I know what guys are going through...but you have to make a decision like I did and get on with things. male pattern baldness has not prevented me from doing a single thing...not one.
