Who here has had experience with emu oil? Despite it being messy, would you say its worth it? Not necessarily for hair growth but to maintain a healthy scalp. My scalp is a wreck dude....scabs, weird bumps that look like pimples filled with puss (not sure if they are pimples or not) flaking and dandruff.....I'm on nizoral which helped the dandruff...but everything else is still there. Any one know what could be causing this, would emu oil help, and if not what would?

I've been using emu oil on my hairline for about a month and a half. I havn't been using finasteride or minoxidil, just vitimines, and I actually started to get a lot of peach fuzz along my hair line.

I just started using Revita, and amazingly enough, all that peach fuzz is begining to thicken up and becoming my natural hair colour. Thing is, i'm only 19 and not even sure if I have male pattern baldness, but either way im extremely happy.

Anyways, I think emu oil is a great addition to any routine!

See a dermatologist, seems like you have scalp problems that may require professional help.

cmudave,

look in the experimental/herbs forum about EMU or search this forum about it. Search the internet too.

Some of the reported advantages of EMU Oil is in fact that it does not leave your skin greasy. Some websites say it will absorb within 2 minutes and you can wipe off the "excess". This doesn't mean you can glob as much as you want on there and it will absorb and not make your hair/head greasy. This is why LESS IS MORE when it comes to EMU Oil.

Tests have been done on EMU Oil when used 3x/day it regrew hair. I've only read about these though and did not see any results of the test itself. Because it absorbs so quickly I could see how very easily you would be able to apply this stuff 3x/day.

anyone know of a good site to buy from for a good price and good quality?

I've seen them in previous posts around here. Do a search on it in the forum and on google. When you find one let us know which one you went with and why. :D

well...just ordered a 2 oz bottle of pure emu oil from longview farms for about 20 bucks I've read a lot of good reviews on it. Hopefully it will clear up the scalp problems and create a good atmosphere for some hair growth...I'll let ya all know how it worked out.

Scratch that, I just got an e-mail from longviewfarms saying that they cant ship the product for a few weeks so i cancelled and found a way better deal. 4oz of refined pure emu oil for 24.71 (including shipping). If anyones interested lemme know and I'll give you the site, I don't want anyone to think I'm spamming.

You can be damned sure that if emu oil did anything of any significance for male pattern baldness, it would have been all over the press decades ago.

You're actually allowed to post links to sites here that will be beneficial to its members. What a concept!! :)

I'm getting mine basically for scalp management I've had terrible scalp problems with sores and scabs and stuff. I read also that it helps to absorb topicals better. Hair growth would definitely be icing on the cake, but I'm not really expecting it from emu oil alone.

by the way, here's the link if anyone's interested http://nutritiongeeks.com/emu-oil-thund ... ridge.html

I used emu oil for 6 months (once a day). Results: 0

I’m now applying it twice a day (on my hairline and temples).

After I finish this bottle that’s it for me (unless a miracle happens).
