I'm 25,and first noticed hairs on my pillow,a few days after returning from holiday,i had great hair prior to this, but had always had it highlighted, and styled with wax, gels you name it! My mom always said"Keep dying it and not treating it and you'll be bald sooner or later" I laughed!! I'm not now!!
Anyway while on hols,i noticed one day i burnt my head, and its strange because it was ever since that day i noticed my hair starting to thin.
I went along with this and now nearly 18months years after the thinning started,i need to act before it gets visable!
I decided to use Nourkrin man, read loads of research, decided it was for me,as i had no financial issues at the time.So i didnt mind shelling out for 9 months supply.
Have to admit though, after 6 months i havn't seen any re growth nor any sign of hair falling out even from the slight touch of my hand.
Dissapointed to say the least!

I have some pics that i would be willing to share,i seem to have the thining on the whole of the top of my head in patterns, and also the crown is going thin.

At the moment its only noticable if your looking for it,but when others start to notice then thats when i have to worry!Namely my girlfriend!

I'm looking at Nizaral, and i like the sound of it,but i think im gonna visit a dermo too.

Any give any advice on where i should go from here?I'm also from UK so would be extra intrested in finding out where fellow British buy their 'supplies' from, websites etc.

Heres a few pics, hopefully i aint left it too late!!

I just want to know the first step to take!..thanks for reading!

hello energy,

yes you appear to be in the intermediate stages of diffuse thinning, as baldisbeautiful said. your hairline seems relatively intact but you are thinning heavily all over the top and crown, and that's with dry hair too. it would look much worse wet i imagine, all clumped together and everything.

anyway, first thing you need to do is get an appt to see a doctor in the UK to make sure that you have male pattern baldness, because drugs like rogaine and propecia will only work for that, they won't work for other alopecias besides the androgenetic one which you probably have.

in the meantime, until you can get in to see a doctor to confirm your male pattern baldness diagnosis, you should order some finasteride from either http://www.inhousepharmacy.com or http://www.unitedpharmacies.com . Both are very reputable online pharmacies that don't require prescriptions:

http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/Finpeci ... p_343.html

there's the link for generic finasteride, just as good as brand name propecia, but 80% cheaper. i'd order a 3 month supply to start and chances are once you tell your Doctor you are already on it he will tell you to just continue.

I would also start using Nizoral shampoo as you said, twice a week. You can buy it at your local pharmacy/grocery store. Use it twice a week , about a teaspoon's worth in your hair should work, and leave it in for 5 minutes before rinsing. Just use it in place of your normal shampoo, twice a week.

Do those two things and your hair loss should stop and you may even regrow. If you aren't satifisfied with things after a year then add minoxidil(Rogaine) to your regimen to complete the so called "Big 3" regimen(minoxidil, nizoral, propecia) and you should see some more regrowth.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies lads,Yer Jayman...It looks worse wet,i'm gonna try and get some pics wet so you can see,and like so many on here, they are great to look back on months down the line.

I'm gonna place an order with United Pharmacies, but you said order 3 months worth, how many strips would this be,and as each pill is 1mg,do you reccomend one per day?

I've read mixed reviews on minoxidil,i understand that its great to use,but would need continuous use ,and whenver use is halted the hair you've gained will eventually drop out.

Do you think i've caught it at a good stage or should i have done something sooner?

it is never late.the problem with minoxidil is that it causes itching and dandruff and shedding for temporary period.may be it doesnot happen with u.both finasteride and minoxidil have to be used indefinetly to mantain ur hair if they show any progress.i personaly used minoxidil for one month but it is very hard to stick to the routine to apply it twice on a clean and dried scalp.finasteride tablets comes in 5mg,u have to take one fifth of it /day.since it is very difficult to break it in one fifth i take one fourth of it i.e 1.25mg/day.

10 pills per strip so that would be 9 strips. And yes take one pill per day.

I've read mixed reviews on minoxidil,i understand that its great to use,but would need continuous use ,and whenver use is halted the hair you've gained will eventually drop out.

I'd hold off on minoxidil till you've given the Finpecia a year to work. Otherwise you won't know which product is giving you the regrowth and minoxidil is a hassle to begin with. Imagine having to use it without knowing if it ever regrew any hair for you or not. Most results from finpecia regrowth will occur within a year so that's why I say wait 1 year.

Yes if you get regrowth from minoxidil and you stop using it ithe hair it regrew will fall out, that's true. But only the hair that it regrew or was maintaining will. not other hair, so don't worry about that.

Do you think i've caught it at a good stage or should i have done something sooner?

With diffuse people like you and I it's always tougher catching it earlier because it starts out with a general thinning all over and no real bald spots. It's good that you're catching it at this stage before you've lost a lot of your hairline.

Hmm take a look here http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/Finpecia_Generic_Propecia__1mg_10_Tablets_p_343.html Shows the pills in 1mg.What you think??

I like to think its not to late, but i'm a bit angry i didnt sort it earlier.

I'm determined to win though,my hair aint going without a fight!!

yeah that's what you want. fincar is the generic version of proscar which is the 5 mg version of finasteride. finpecia is the generic version of propecia which is the 1 mg version of finasteride. You can either cut fincars into quarters and take 1.25 mg a day, or you can just take one 1 mg of finpecia a day, so one pill.

I'd just get the finpecia since it's not very expensive and you can just pop the pill and forget about it. after 3 months and you've gotten in to see a Doctor, you can order a year's supply from united which is much cheaper per pill than ordering 3 months at a time.

Ok Just to update,i've ordered 3 months supply of Finpecia from United,nd i've ordered some Nizarol 1% and Also some T-sal too.

I'm looking at maybe buying some MSM too,i read a story recently by the user 'English'. MSM was part of his Regimen, and is a supplement to help retain the strength of hair, nails, keep skin healthy etc.

So i may pursue in buying some of those too.

I'd say you've been thinning for at least a year or two...but some finasteride should fill that in nicely.

It's likely the GFs probably noticed already so don't stress about her finding out. If she leaves you for losing your hair please kick her in the bum on the way out.

But yep, I think you'll respond well...Goodluck!

PS...Hold off on the minoxidil at least until you've given the finasteride a good chance to work. That stuff is the devil's juice and once you start you sell your soul (hair) to it for the rest of your life. It's a massive pain in the *** to use...I hate it!

Norwood 3.

Yep, your wet hair looks really bad. Sadly, I know this out of experience. Good Luck with your hair!

Your old hairline won't return (don't know if you care about that) but the diffuse thinning on top of your head will respond very well to finasteride, imo.

The hairline,i aint too bothered about at all,its just an hairline i've always had,i think it has got worse over the years, but its not that i'm worried about. Its more the thinning that i'm concerned about, but i'm encouraged by all the comments i've had about finasteride really helping me out.

shorter hair clumps together less and would probably help make your thinning less noticeable. for patches in the back like that i would consider using a product like couvre or toppic as a concealer while you wait for treatments to work. be happy, most people have more success treating the back than they do the front.

Yeah i thought about a shorter cut,and i fully believe it would make my hair 'look' better.

The crown isn't at a point of thinning that i have considered any kind of concealer, and to be honest,i dont think i want to be putting any creams/lotions onto my hair at this stage.

I'm happy to let finasteride tackle the problem for me at the mo,and i shall take it from there.

I'm more than happy to listen to all your views though!
Thats what this forums all about.!

Is this generic finpecia just as good?

And can someone send me a link to a place where I can get Nizoral for a decent price.

Thanks
